((Nastasia "Nastya" Zharkova: Sandbox Start))

Nastya typed away on her laptop, her eyes fixed upon the screen. Before her, her screen was filled with lines of code, quickly filling with new lines matching the cadence of her fingertips on the keys. She had a slight smirk on her face. It felt good to code random programs in between the major ones. She had a break between paid offers, so she figured she may as well make a fun little game.

Nastya was sitting in a corner of the school library, working hard on her program. She had taken to working on these programs when she wanted a break from working in her room or dealing with her siblings at home. A change of pace helped her a bit when it came to working on certain programs. This one in particular wasn't as hard, but she wasn't going to turn down a chance to make mischief while in school.

Nastya brushed some of her dreads over her shoulder. She was almost ready, and all she had to do was write the last few lines of code.

"Okay," she muttered to herself, biting the corner of her lip. "And the Nasty Shark is ready to swim again."

Nastya tapped a few more keys, and watched as the program began to run. Now the smirk was turning into a full blown smile. It was everything she hoped it was.

You'd think somebody who self-identified with a shark, even just for yucks over a silly pun, wouldn't so freely leave their back exposed. Nastya was too absorbed in whatever she was doing at her computer to think about survival instincts, though.

Footsteps approaching from behind, muffled by the carpeted library floor, were the only warning given before a pair of hands abruptly grabbed her by the shoulders.

"Whatcha workin' on?" Ashley asked right into Nastya's ear, leaning over her to look at the computer screen without waiting for an answer.

Huh. Looked like nerd stuff.

((Yian Griffiths: Pregame Start))

The library in their school wasn't nearly as big or as comprehensive in it's selection as the more general public library that his father worked in, but the selection of foreign language books was enough to keep Yian both in practice and in good company, a familiar copy of Harry Potter a l'ecole des sorciers slowly withering away in his hands as he leafed through yellowed and creased pages. It wasn't the only thing holding his attention though, as famillar words weren't enough to contain his curiosity, and he'd found his concentration perturbed by the rapid stattaco of Nastya's typing. Given what he knew of her, she was probably coding, which was supposed to be like languages for computers. Unfortunately it had way too maths in it for him to want to look at it for more than 5 seconds, but it was cool nonetheless, being able to make computers do what you wanted.

He wondered what she was up to as she stopped typing and exclaimed her success to the room. Part of him wanted to ask her, but he didn't want to bother her, after all - she was probably busy making the code better or something. He returned his gaze back to the book, only to hear someone else ask the question he'd wanted to know the answer to, perking back up and looking over at the now pair of girls crowding around the laptop, wondering if he'd be able to hear the answer. He looked for a few seconds longer, before sinking back into the chair that sat halfway across the room from the two of them, an image of them turning around and seeing him staring like that flashed through his mind, his gaze swiftly returning to the book as the prospect mortified him.

Nastya jolted a bit in her seat when some hands appeared on her shoulders. She quickly whipped her head back, flipping her dreads against the person behind her. Nastya chuckled a bit. It was just Ashley. Nastya should have known. Ashley was pretty cool, and had a lot of similarities to Nastya in both fashion and hobbies. She could surely let Ashley in on her project.

"Oh, hey Ash," Nastya said. "Not much. Just working on something fun for shits and giggles. I figure it'd be fun to share online."

Nastya saw that the program had finished running, and now was ready to open on her browser.

"There we go," Nastya said. "Now, this can either be used for great amusement or for devilish mayhem. Check it out."

Nastya moved her laptop over so Ashley could see the program. On screen, there was a picture of the letter sign outside St. Editha, with "Saint Editha Academy" painted on the wooden frame above the portion with the removable letters used to announce dances or half-days, which was now blank. In the upper-center portion of the image was a blank text box.

"Just a little flash program I whipped up," Nastya said. "Here, I'll show you."

Nastya typed a phrase into the text box, and then hit enter.

The program reloaded, and now the school sign read "Saint Editha Academy: We can't apologize enough for the asbestos."

Nastya turned back to Ashley. She had taken a picture of the school sign and uploaded it to her computer. With some creative coding and finagling, she now had a program where anyone could change the text on the sign and make it look like it was really done up by the school janitor or whoever changed the letters.

"Whattya think? Wanna try?"

Ashley gave Nastya's shoulders a brief squeeze before releasing her. "C'mon now, you know I can't read. They only let me set foot in the library out of obligation."

Partly true, probably. Ashley didn't doubt that the librarians would just as soon not have her around with how many times she'd been warned about keeping her voice down over the years. Amazingly, she had yet to be kicked out on any occasion.

Ashley grabbed the back of the nearest chair and dragged it over so that she could sit next to Nastya. "Sure though, I'll give it a go." She reached over to peck out the letters on Nastya's keyboard.

A-R-S-

Wait, no. That was predictable and inappropriate for school when she was already on thin ice with the library staff.

Ashley quickly backspaced and typed out T-I-T-S instead.

To her credit, she kept a straight face for about two seconds before covering her mouth to muffle her giggles.

Yian tried not to listen too hard to their conversation, even if he did want to know. He didn't want to pry too much, that'd be rude. But he couldn't help but look up again from his book as one of them began to giggle, the two of them now staring intently at the little screen that was hidden away from him, and he couldn't help but wonder just what screts Nastya's laptop contained.

With a little trepidation he stood up and walked over, stopping a few paces away from the pair, when he suddenly realised he had no idea what to say. He tried to speak anyway, because he didn't want to just stand there and stare at them.

"Hey, uh, what are you guys up to?" he asked, his voice trailing off a little as he fidgeted with his hands a little in front of him.

"'Saint Editha Academy: TITS.' Yep. Sounds about right," Nastya said at Ashley's test.

Nastya moved the laptop back in front of her hands. She had another idea and started to type. This was such a dumb little program, but it was already proving to be quite fun. She didn't expect to spend too much time on this, but she was sure it'd be good for a few laughs.

Before Nastya could add her new example to the picture, someone came by asking what she and Ashley were doing. Nastya didn't know a whole lot about Yian, other than that he was into medicine and language. But like her, he probably knew a few dirty or hilarious phrases in non-English languages.

"Oh, hey Yian," Nastya said. "Ashley and I were just playing with a new program I made. Check it."

Nastya turned the laptop to Yian, showing him the picture of the Saint Editha sign, which still read "TITS."

"And with one click of the Enter key..."

Nastya changed the sign to now read "Saint Editha Academy: You can graduate any time you like, but you can never leave."

"...and it improves one hundred-fold."

Yian nodded along with Natasya in complete lack of understanding, before she showed him a picture of the sign outside of their school that read "TITS" instead of the actual message, which he was pretty sure was about something the Year 9s were doing on Friday. He couldn't help but smile broadly at it, containing a chuckle as he wondered for a moment if the two of them had been outside and taken some of the letters on the sign off, before she quickly changed it with the press of a button.

"Wow!" he said suitably impressed by her technical prowess, before the line itself registered and he smiled. That was a song lyric he was pretty sure. Something about a hotel. He looked over at the both of them, thinking about what to say. He kind of wanted to know how she'd done it, but he was pretty sure he wouldn't understand, so he asked the next logical thing instead. "Can I try it out?" he asked, before adding a quick "Please!" to the end, making sure he remembered his manners.

Yian didn't express proper appreciation for Ashley's tits, either the message on the virtual school sign or the real ones. Tragic.

She snorted, leaning back with her arms hooked over the back of her chair and one leg crossed over the opposite knee. In honesty, Yian was like... a small child. Chubby-cheeked and innocent, probably didn't know what a boob was outside of the medical sense. If he ever had occasion to flirt with her, Ashley would have probably just reacted with vaguely flattered pity. Or shock. Probably shock first, then the pity.

She made a vague hand gesture in Yian's direction, indicating her willingness to let him have at the computer. "I've used up all my genius already. Brevity is the soul of wit, you know?" Actually, she was in here in the first place because she had some books to return, but it was her free period and she'd been curious about what Nastya was doing. There was some other classwork she'd kind of thought about getting a head start on, but this was more entertaining.

"Knock yourself out, mate," Nastya said, sliding her computer over to Yian.

She had no idea what kind of hilarity this guy could come up with on a program like this. He'd probably do something esoteric or that he heard of before. Maybe he just wanted to put song lyrics on the sign like she did with the Hotel California one. Heck, maybe he had a sick sense of humor that even Nastya couldn't imagine.

She did look to Ashley and smirk a bit when she said she was out of clever idea.

"Aw, come on, Ash," she said. "I'm sure you could top 'tits' somehow. It's probably deep in you somewhere."
