Good Morning, You Idiot

To the south of the mess hall lies the ruins of what must have once been some form of barracks or living facility. The building, however, has been gutted by fire, leaving only ashes and blackened timber—the result of improper safety precautions in storage of explosives that eventually led to the abandonment of the entire island as an unsafe workplace. The building was clearly rather large, with the wreckage indicating a number of distinct rooms. The entire place is quietly ominous, a situation not helped by the fact that the layout of the ruins makes it impossible to keep an eye on the entirety of the surroundings at once.

Good Morning, You Idiot

Well as it turns out, sleeping in a burned-out building sucks.  It's uncomfortable, it smells bad, and you're constantly afraid that it's going to crumble and fall on top of you, crushing you in your sleep.  To put it gently, Adonis has had better nights.  To put it not-so-gently, it was the worst night's sleep he had ever had.

The morning's announcements were full of unfortunate surprises.  Aaron was already dead, as was Richard.  One of the cheerleaders, Lyndi, had bit it too.  A lot of people were dying, and Adonis had almost been one of them.  He sat at attention and continued to listen.  In addition to the list of the dead, he needed to know the name of the girl who had shot Kasumi.  Better to know who he should be watching out for beyond just the vague description of "some crazy girl with a gun".

So the announcements moved on to something about the cabin and... hey wait!  They didn't mention Kasumi!  That fuckin' bastard.  Now how was he supposed to know who shot her?

Wait a minute... if Kasumi wasn't on the announcements, did that mean that she wasn't dead?  Yeah, that's what it had to mean.  The announcement guy has to mention everyone who died, right?  So if she wasn't on the list, that means that she must still be alive.  Adonis pumped his fist victoriously at this revelation.  Yes!  He didn't get anyone killed!

But wait... he had told Lance that Kasumi was dead.  So now Lance probably thinks that he lied to him, even though he thought he was telling the truth.  He imagined that Lance probably wouldn't be too happy about that.

It also occurred to him that he was still in the same place where he and Lance last met, meaning that it would be very easy for him to find him and go all angry mislead boyfriend on his ass.

... Yeah, he should probably leave.

(Adonis Alba continued elsewhere...)
