I Hate You, You and especially You
((Fabiano Vecoli continued from (Un)Happy Camping))
The rain drowned out the rest of the world, and in Fabiano's mind, this could go on forever. Just him, the rain and the barely tolerable resting place he had found. Barely tolerable because the ground was hard and cold, but not soaking wet like probably most of the island right now.
Currently he lay under a tree big enough to keep him dry and about ten meters away from the lake in the middle of the rainforest. He had spotted the tree on his first trip through the forest, but back then he had decided to look for a better place.
Thinking back, it might have been better had he stopped his journey here on the first opportunity.
It wasn't that he wanted Oscar to be still alive. This idiot would have gotten himself killed rather sooner than later anyway. It was just that in the end, the only thing he had achieved by doing the deed was making two new enemies. And being the one who got singled out as the only killer so far.
The latter was more a problem of honor. After all, the only two people he had introduced himself to with his real name were the two who had seen Oscar die. For everyone else, he was still Adrian or Mario or whatever random name he introduced himself with. But being the first killer meant he was the first one to have given this bastard Jack what he and his people wanted from them.
The first one to have started playing this wicked game.
Well, there was also the suicide kid, but judging from the announcement, Jack seemed dissatisfied with this option. Whatever the purpose of this situation was, it was not to simply kill them. It was more to make them kill each other.
But thinking about the overall situation only brought more frustration to Fabiano, since he had absolutely no clues to go off and was therefore limited to making theories he couldn't verify anyway. And even if he managed to crack the secret of why they were here, so what? He doubted Jack would gratulate him on solving the mystery and let him go. So it was better to focus on a plan of action.
And that was a department he was severely lacking. He had known that he wasn't a great tactician and had no experience in direct violence, much less murder. But so far, both situations he had found himself in had ended unfavourably for him. In the farmhouse, he made an avoidable enemy. And at the camp, he only got rid of the easiest target while gaining two new people who were likely to attack him on sight the next time they met. And what had he gotten in return?
Nothing but a tree branch, some bruises and the knowledge that he was a shitty negotiator in hostage situations. The most positive things he could think of was that he was alive and without any noteworthy injury.
The last few hours had been spend by just sitting there, memorizing the map, imagining what must have happened at the village and what his peers at home where up to right now.
What a shitty day. At least the sound of rain had a calming effect, like it so often did. Fabiano hoped he would be able to spend the rest of the night like this, maybe even with a few hours of sleep.

Soarya walked with Dominik and Abel. The three of them held the deflated zorb above their heads, using the plastic to protect themselves from the rain. Their feet pressed down small, newly sprung vegetation. The rain covered the clear plastic, making their view of the night sky wavy and distorted. The announcements played not long ago.
She smiled at Abel and pinched his cheek.
“Hey, buddy,” she said.

Makaria was dead. Abel wondered if that Violet Crumble bar had been eaten yet.
The other was some bloke who up and got himself killed. Guess it was really happening now.
Idiots.
Abel flinched at the cheek sneak attack; both his arms holding up the plastic makeshift tarp thing shook for a moment as he was pecked by stray spatter of rain. His kidnappers were going at it like this for a bit, but all he could do was keep doing his job and hold the plastic up and pretend to listen to a language he didn't understand like it was a viral video of a foreign talk show.
It was either listen to that or the rain as it plocked down on the plastic.

Just as all good things had to come to an end, Fabiano's peace was eventually interrupted.
The rain that had provided him with nice background noise also drowned out the sound of the new arrivals. As a result, Fabiano only noticed them when they were too close for him to get up and hide.
Running away was still an option, but would look suspicious. Therefore Fabiano's best bet was the friendly approach. He stood up from his resting place. The tree branch was right next to him, but he decided against it. As the group of three, carrying a plastic-something over their heads to stay save from the rain, approached, Fabiano eyed them. Through the rain, their voices were barely audible, but judging from the few bits he could make out, it wasn't a language he spoke anyway. The two on the sides were having the conversation and looking at the guy in the middle, which was probably the reason why they didn't notice Fabiano who was about twenty meters in front of them. But that would surely change very soon.
The first guy had what looked like a machine pistol. Yeah, trying to start a conversation while holding the branch would have been a bad move.
Then he took a look at the other two. In the middle was a guy who seemed kind of annoyed. Understandable, because his cheek was under attack by-
"Soraya?" Fabiano called out.

Rubi was convinced that the boy they had found was their original one so Dominik just let out an exasperated sigh and let the issue rest.
Instead, he focused on keeping the deflated zorb above his head and as unladen with water as possible although he was aware that he was fighting an unwinnable battle. The rain seemed especially heavy as if to spite their attempts at making any real progress with their travel.
The unknown white boy was just another obstacle they'd need to figure out. To his credit, he seemed very willing to just go along with the pair of them considering the situation. Then again, he was probably just glad to be away from all the gunfire, and Dominik could agree with the sentiment. He didn't know what had been going on in the village but they hadn't stayed in the area to find out. Instead, he and Rubi had grabbed who they thought was Archie and made a hasty exit away from the fighting. The discovery that it wasn't Archie they had pulled away but some other boy they had never seen before had really made a mess of everything.
And speaking of unknown boys, another suddenly appeared out of the rain and called out a name to them.
"¿Quién es Soraya?" He asked, glancing over at Rubi with a confused look.

"Ay púchica -- mira mira. Puedo probarlo. "
Soraya nudged Abel a little.
"Hey, your name beings with A- something, yeah?"
The two boys stopped walking; she stopped as well. The rain was still loudly pattering against their plastic tarp, which still kept them dry. Up ahead she could see the cause for the stop. It was the boy from the house she woke up in and he called to her.
She turned away from Dominik and back to the boy under the tree.
"I don't know who you are! But Soraya is my twin!" she yelled over the rain. "That must mean she's also here! Oh, I'm so worried. She doesn't speak very good English. Did you see her?"
Soraya scrunched up her face and shoved it into the crook up her elbow, using her other hand to keep the plastic up.

Abel opened his mouth to speak to Soraya but pivoted into looking confused and back-and-forthing between her and the other boys. He was just gonna keep playing the role of the confused foreign bystander, though that wasn't entirely said in irony.

For a moment, Fabiano was actually fooled by Soraya's bullshit.
But then the obvious truth dawned on him, and his irritation grew. Apparently inflating the ball hadn't been a singular case of Soraya being weird. Now she had to go and lie about her own identity.
The shitty part about this all was that he had no clue whether or not the other two boys knew about this. Were they victims or accomplices?
Fabiano would have to bet on the former. Going along with the lie would give Soraya more leeway for whatever she was up to.
"Stop it with the lies!" He demanded in a harsh voice. "Why would a pair of twins have such differences in speaking a language? There is that familiar plastic ball you three are holding over your heads that looks exactly like the ball Soraya had. Do you want to tell me that this guys not only abducted twins, but also gave them the same weapon draw?"
He just hoped that at least one of the boys understood english.

So, uh, not to take away from all this tension, but Jaxon was feelin’ a ton of deja vu right now.
((continued from SIMPLE WEAPON HACKS IN CASE OF BEING THROWN IN THE WILD || COOL DIY CRAFTS))
‘Cause, like, he was hiding behind a tree. And he could see, like, three… no, four people in the clearing up ahead. Three of them kinda looked like they’d hooked up with one another. One of them had… lied, or something, to number four? and now he looked kinda pissed about it? Was tellin’ ‘em to stop with their shit? Jaxon couldn’t really tell for sure — bit hard to peep their convo with all this fucking rain — but it didn’t take much to tell that maybe this time it wasn’t safe to come out and talk. If one of these pricks started throwing rocks? Jaxon was bailing. Kinda knew now that he wasn’t gonna find his group again, but at least maybe he’d finally find a way out of this fucking forest. Find a place to snooze. Maybe even forget he was here, for a little bit.
That’d be nice.
And y’know what would also be nice? More supplies. Maybe even a better weapon than these gloves — maybe cross his arms without breakin’ out in hives for once. He had a plan for that. He could see a kid — white boy, dress shirt with brown hair — who looked kinda a cut below the other three. Jaxon figured that maybe when Number Four went full tilt and turned against these people he could rush out, cover the ten metres between him and all of them, grab his target, shove the gloves into his face (maybe even choke him out), jack his stuff, book it. Wayyyyyyyyy more high concept than anything he’d done before, but…
But hey. Just like he said before — authorities couldn’t charge him for shit anything he did here. He could just think of it like his very first boxing match, if it came down to it. Doubt anyone else here had been in fights like he had.

Dominik looked between the white boy—not their white boy, the other one—and Rubi? Soraya? He wasn't immediately sure what her name was but he knew he probably looked confused.
"¿Que?"
It seemed there was a good chance Rubi—or Soraya he supposed—hadn't been truthful regarding her name, which struck him as strange. None of them knew each other so what benefit was there to lying?
Keeping his arms up to make sure the deflated zorb stayed above his head Dominik shuffled around slightly to face Rubi.
"¿Que estas haciendo?"

Abel side-eyed the camera like it was an episode of one of those American mockumentaries.
"R-right," he spoke as the rain continued to drip down.
He opened his mouth to continue but ended up just kinda sorta tugging on the bogan tarp first, leading the other boy and Soraya- or whatever her name was- away.
"Let's, uh, let's keep going and sort this out somewhere dry, right?"
((continued somewhere drier maybe idk))

"Dije una pequeña mentirita," she shrugged and smiled sheepishly.
"So my name is Soraya, but who doesn't want to be in a novela? Plus, I haven't let you down yet -- and I won't. I think Archie has it right. It's wet and this guy has bad vibes. The jungle doesn't like him at all. I can tell. Vamanos, chicos."

And with that, they went away.
Soraya said something to her allies, which Fabiano couldn't understand because she spoke quieter than before, and then the group went back into another direction, away from him, without a word of goodbye.
Good. This was probably the optimal ending for everyone involved.
However, this went a little bit too fast. After they were out of view, Fabiano took a good look around and listened closely in case they would try to jump him.
He didn't find any hint of the trio.
But he spotted someone else lurking behind a tree.
"Hey, you!" He turned to the hiding person to show them their cover had been blown. "And what is your deal?"

Jaxon didn't give a response. Not a spoken one, anyway. Soon as Fabi asked his question, the answer rushed right at him, closing the gap in less than three seconds and throwing an open right palm right towards his face.

Naturally, Fabiano had steeled himself for the hidden figure to be hostile. Someone without any malice would have no reason to hide, after all. So when the copse parted to spit out a boy in a white shirt, Fabiano was prepared and jumped a bit to the left.
But he had underestimated the speed with which his opponent would come running. A green hand grazed his face before he retained his footing, causing him to stumble a few steps back.
A biting pain broke out where the grass-glove had touched his skin. Fabiano had made a few mistakes during his exploration tours through nature, so he recognized the feeling.
Still better than something actually lethal, he supposed.
His stumbling back had been a blessing in disguise. Because it brought him closer to his stuff. His backpack was hidden behind a few leaves in case someone came while he was sleeping. And his tree branch was leaning against a tree.
Fabiano grabbed the latter.
