It's Dangerous to Go Alone, Take This

The Aloha Tour Guide and Transportation Centre is located in the middle of the resort area and serves the purpose of providing buses, trolleys and walking guides to new arrivals. A large sign with a smiling sun plastered on it marks the location of the centre. The centre itself is in fact just a wide plain looking building, apart from the sign and a bus depot at the back. The inside of the building contains a reception/waiting area with benches laid out to provide seating for anyone who wants to wait for a bus in the cool interior.

It's Dangerous to Go Alone, Take This

((Vahka Basayev Continued from Once Upon A Time))

From the looks of things in here, everything was going pretty much like the producers planned.

"Hey Vince? Got another body in here. Somebody you know, or can we bank on the crazies losing another?"

This wasn't a guy who seemed like he'd go down easy. Big, mean, athletic, and it looked like a decent thief too. He had two bags nearby that whoever offed him had neglected to grab before they left.

"Looks like we're stocking up again, buddy."

Vahka waved Vincent into the big, white building and moved towards the bags. He kept his eyes and wits sharp, since whoever had turned the big dude into a pincushion might still be around.

[Vincent Holway, continued from Once Upon a Time]

"No idea who that is."

Vincent nudged the corpse with his feet. Yeah, dead. Alright. That there were two bags around may seem really convenient at first, but who knew, maybe this was a trap.

He looked around the building, intent on seeing whether anybody tried to hide from them again. Wouldn't be the first time. That guy on the ground was shot. Not by a bullet, but that didn't comfort Vincent either.

Looking over to Vahka, he saw him closing in on the bags.

"Are there any weapons left?"

Vahka caught a question about weapons. He'd been wondering the same thing. Maybe they'd get lucky digging through this mess.

One bag was considerably lighter than the other one. There was some shit missing from it, including a weapon. They could work with that, though. As he pawed through the other bag, he found a strange, green, stone paddle. From the glint, one of the sides had an edge to it.

"Well," he said, holding up the paddle for Vincent to see, "We got this. Wanna add it to your collection, or should I throw it in with my shit?"

The food in the main bag seemed pretty much untouched. It'd be an even better haul than Sunshine was. If he ever ran into whoever shot up Pincushion here, he might have to thank them.

"...a paddle?"

He was about to call it an odd sex toy, because that was the first thing that came to Vincent's mind. Some person getting off by having that stone paddle punish their buttocks. Hm... he could see Nutjob to be that person. Anyway.

With the mind out of the gutter now, Vincent glanced back and forth between the paddle and it's likely former owner. Fucker didn't smile, at least. Made a better impression that Nutjob, who'll probably send Vincent to a therapist.

"I already have a melee weapon, so it's yours."

"Roger that."

The weird paddle didn't seem like it would be much use, but he might be able to find something to do with it. It'd be something he could use in a pinch, at least. The black cord threaded through two holes at its base slipped around his wrist.

"Alright. Split the rest up and the scope this place out? We might get lucky and find more free shit."

Good idea. Vahka could get the fresher supplies, since Vincent himself already got Nutjob's stuff. Although, it seems he would not come around carrying a second bag now. His own was filled to the brim with the already pilfered goods, and the contents of a third bag won't fit in there, as good as Vincent was in playing Tetris with bags.

"Yeah, let's get this together and leave."

This place was relatively open, easy to find and reach, thus Vincent and Vahka would need to find a better base.

((GHIII Gene Steward, Enter))

After Gene moved further and further away from the Casino, Aidan and Laura, he planned to eat something, so he opened his bag and ate a loaf of bread while he wandered. The fact that he just had half the rations everybody else had frustrated him, however he kept calm.

Nobody died of starvation, right?

After Gene finished his loaf he looked on the ground for maybe some stones. However the ground of the resort was pretty clean, which makes sense. It was pretty cold and Gene wished he'd not have removed his hoodie earlier. He still had his hoodie in his bag, but he didn't put it on as it would wasted time and the body's defences would be strenghten, so he just put his hands inside his jeans pockets.

Looking to his right he saw a big building in the distance, the Tower.

If I'll gain a sniper rifle and put myself on the tower, I'd be undefeatable...or a gun with much ammunition, would do it, too.

Honestly, everything you throw down that high could be mortal. But I still need a new weapon.

But he doubted he'd find a good weapon. Everybody just had their designated ones. And even if he'd find corpses, their killers usually loot them.

Keep Calm. Keep positive. Hopefully there are people like Tristan or Suzanne. I might find people like them and get their stuff.

Maybe he wouldn't have to use a slingshot. Gene's original destination was the Orchard to gain some stones for his slingshot. However then he had a plan. He remembered his first aid kit. He put it out of his bag, opened it and found what he was searching. He put two items from the kit out, closed the kit and put it back in his bag.

The first item was the lighter. The second item was the epipen.

They might not be a good weapons, but you can never be sure when you need fire and something to stab, right?

Gene smiled, as he now had two things he could use in a fight. In case Aidan or anybody else attacks him again, he has something to defend himself with. And hitting the right vein could be useful for Gene, too.

He put his epipen into one jeans pocket, his lighter and his slingshot in his other pocket. Gene Steward then walked forward, proud of having provisory weapons.

When he saw a building, he approached it, because he heard voices.

Oh nice, people.

He wanted to go in through the entrance, but then changed his mind. He didn't want to end up like Isaac King. He wouldn't go to the voices, so he silently went to the wall of the building, moving his chucks slow and silent, putting his hand in front his nose to reduce the sounds of his breathing, which was a bit heavy due to the little "'fight" with Aidan and the fact that it was very cold, and hid behind the wall.

Surprise is the best advantage.

This team shit was pretty handy. He felt a little more comfortable working through the bags left behind for them with Vincent at his back, and it'd probably feel even better once he found some people who didn't have any reason to betray him. Still, he trusted Vincent. Not because he knew him, or because he was a good person, or anything sentimental like that. He trusted him to be practical. To respect what he'd seen. Maybe even fear it. That was the point of the performance, after all.

Who Vahka was at home didn't matter anymore. No more chains.

"Wait."

Vahka's voice dropped as he heard noises outside. Footsteps? "Somebody's crashin' the party," he murmured to Vincent with an amused half-smile.

Welp, that was sure inconvenient. Vahka was right, sadly, because Vincent could hear the steps just as well before they returned to silence again. Somebody thought they could hide from them, apparently.

The tension echoed through the centre. Each sound was amplified by both the layout and Vincent's sharpened mind.

"Sounds like just one person." He murmured back to Vahka. "Let's see whether we can ambush them?"

Gene still was leaned on the wall. Nothing happened.

It was still cold and his eye lids felt tired.

Stay Calm, Be Patient, Camp. Jared also managed to do that. I can sleep later, when I find my teammates, they'll hopefully protect my back. Effort gets rewarded with sleep.

"Yeah," he mumbled out, "Stay steady, though. I'll go first, watch my back for more."

Vahka slowly crept out the door, squinting out into the surrounding area. For a moment, he thought he saw two figures approaching.

Something hit his back. Hands dug into the sides of his head, turning and flailing, pushing without method, almost comically random in their positioning and effort. The unconventional assault made him pause in morbid curiosity. A pale, pinched face with chestnut fringe struggled over his shoulder in what appeared to be herculean effort.

"Heh. You're fun."

Gravity overtook him as he willingly dropped backwards, crashing towards the ground with his assailant pinned between his heavy body and the hard earth below.

Vincent nodded in agreement. He quickly pulled out the knife before he slowly went after him. They reached the end of the room, and as Vahka stepped out of the door, a figure appeared behind him.

Technically, that would've been the point where Vincent rushed to Vahka so that he wouldn't get overwhelmed by the attacker, but he couldn't help but stand there, amazed by the futile efforts by the stranger to... what was that supposed to be anyway?

Vahka let himself drop, taking care of the assailant. Vincent swiftly went outside, glancing on Vahka for a short moment before he observed the enviroment. There was a chance this guy wasn't alone after all, and this meant that Vahka would be very vulnerable in that position.

Nobody seemed to be there, though. Without losing focus on the area, he began to adress the guy on the ground.

"Is that your idea of a mugging? Well, congrats, you suck."

Finally Gene heard some steps. Somebody was leaving the building.

When Gene went around the corner he observed the person who came out, a person he did not recognize with long black hair who was large, too. And that person wasn't wearing a golden bandanna.

She looks like she has some supplies and maybe a weapon. Surprise is my advantage.

So Gene decided to jump on the black-haired girl, trying to snap her neck and achieve his first kill and a comeback. However the head didn't want to move an inch.

And then Gene looked at the face and realized that the girl was also bearded and looked pretty old and masculine. And the bearded guy then told Gene that he was "fun".

Suddenly the guy dropped and Gene was crushed. Again. This time however it hurt more for Gene. That guy was probably heavier than Aidan.

That lead to Gene screaming, which also ended as soon as it began.

When Gene was lying on the ground he slowly got used to the pressure and he looked around to see that there was another person, who also looked like an adult, approaching them. Unfortunately he neither wielded a golden bandanna.

How old are they even? 20? 21? Laura didn't look so old. Why the fuck would they put college students against the people from my school? Is that even fair?

The beardless guy then commented on his failed attempt to kill the bearded guy.

Even though his heart was beating fast and his lungs were pushing his air, Gene tried to reply sarcastically.

"Mugging? No, I...jumped on him...because I found a tick in his...hair I wanted to remove. Insects can be poisonous."

Again Gene hadn't the upper hand and had no realistic chance to turn it around even if he'd try to resist and fight with his arms that were completely moveable, although they are scratched a bit, so he decided to act less offensive. So he turned his head to the ear of the bearded guy and whispered into his ear.

"I'd suggest you not to apply pressure on my stomach. I just ate something."

Vincent held his back, not that he needed assistance. The boy on his back scrambling like a goddamn spider monkey started mumbling something about ticks and an upset stomach. His snarky attitude seemed to suggest that he'd be the perfect subject for another object lesson.

Vahka rolled up off of the ground and flashed a grin down at the boy below him. "Well I'd hate to cause ya any trouble, what with you throwing yourself out on a limb for me like that." His boot idly dragged along the cold ground, rearing back slowly as he drawled.

"Now, just so we're clear..."

The foot lashed out and dug straight into the small man's abdomen, carrying him back into the wall with a short grunt.

"I shouldn't have done that?"

Guy was either another complete nutjob or had the biggest balls in the universe. Perhaps even both, because how else would you be snarky as you get pressed to wine by Vahka?

Now, he'd learn just how much of a bad idea it was to ambush them. Vahka kicked hard enough so that even Vincent flinched somewhat. Not that he was disgusted or shocked by what he saw, just a bit surprised at the powerful attack.

There was that urge in Vincent to kick the boy on the ground as well. He didn't know him, so he probably was part of the other school. One of these guys like Nutjob, who enjoyed something like SotF. Hell, didn't he attack Vahka thinking as if he'd be some kind of mighty Samson? Believing himself to be the star of a goddamn show, murdering other people just for the inglorious 'fiveteen minutes of fame'?

Vincent coldly gazed into the pained expression of the boy. If the rest of his school was like him and Nutjob, he could easily make sure that someone won who deserved it.
