The Mine Shafts [DANGER ZONE]These mine shafts do not go deeper than a few meters into the earth before being blocked off by cave-ins of heavy boulders and splintered support beams. There are four of them in total, equidistant from each other roughly with a ten minute walk separating. The tunnels were each sizable in diameter, and even in their current collapsed state what remains of the entrances would still provide decent cover from snowstorms and the like. The road only services the closest of the tunnels to the city, and is taken over thereafter by the faint indentation of a dirt road. The conveyor belt extends further, servicing all four mine shafts.Moderator: SOTF U Staff

The Conveyor BeltThis industrial behemoth winds from the mines down to the warehouse at the docks. At one time, minerals would be dumped onto the belt and transported below to a holding area at the port for processing and eventually offloading onto a ship. The rubber of the belt remains intact in most places without much fraying or snapping. The installation follows the topography, at times climbing at a steep gradient and at times virtually flat for hundreds of feet.
A number of skinny, precarious step ladders are built into the belt at regular intervals, none of which have anything approaching the shape of a guard rail, and are the primary means of entry. The catwalks are in poor condition, and there is little to stop someone from falling if they lose their step on the icy, rusted metal.Moderator: SOTF U Staff - 4 Topics

The Union OfficeA cabin built near the Mines, which stood as the offices for the local Miners’ union. Inside remains a fireplace with only spent ashes, a few desks arranged in a square around the walls of the single room, and three bunk beds arranged against the wall furthest from the single door. Boldly illustrated placards and a mess of paperwork would seem to indicate that the Miners resisted the closure of the Serensk mines, albeit in vain.Moderator: SOTF U Staff
