A small, desolate island in the southern Chukchi Sea, the island was once the site of a prosperous mining town and a small detachment of the Soviet Navy. Following the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, it was sold at a bargain to Hayes Aerospace to use as a weapons testing ground. While publicly it was described to the students of the University of Cascadia as a well-staffed, albeit remote research facility; in truth, it is little more than empty ruins and frigid, barren wastes.
