Appearance: Amanda is a average looking girl, standing at a average 5’5 and at a weight of 119, she is just a bit too thin for her family’s taste. Amanda’s hair is quite curly from her Portuguese background, and she keeps its afro-like quality shoulder length so it remains as untangled as possible. Her mahogany hair is highlighted blonde on certain strands, and it accentuates her chocolate eyes nicely. She recently lost quite a bit of weight, and her breasts took quite a toll, going from their previous C-cup status to a small A-cup. Her nose is pointed and slightly oversized, and her lips are thin, so most of the time she has a bored look on her slightly blemished face. Her eyes are sunken in most of the time from lack of sleep and stress, and her thinness makes her bones very visible. Her skin is very pale, leading some to assume she is sick most of the time. On the trip she wears her favorite outfit, a zebra-print button down shirt covered by a black vest, a pair of blue skinny jeans, brown heeled boots covering her calves, and golden hoop earrings. She also has a nice amount of make-up on to cover her acne.

Biography: Amanda was born September 25th to parents Celia and Jose Alves. Her family was middle, class, but that suited her just fine. Her baby brother Nicholas was born when she was three years old, and she loves him to death. She never had any real problems in school, besides the occasional bullying by other students for being an overweight child. Her mother wasn’t the kindest woman in the world, and would make fun of her children constantly. Her father was worse, by ignoring the problem and blaming the children for their mother’s instability. Even through this, Amanda became a strong-willed girl, practically becoming a mother for her brother, nd forcing herself to grow up quickly.

Amanda worked very hard to lose weight when she was in eighth grade, and by her sophomore year was very thin. Her mother accused her of anorexia and bulimia, causing a slight depression in the girl for the remainder of the tenth grade. This same year, her brother convinced her to become a cheerleader to be out of the house more often, and she jumped at the idea. Even though she disliked some of the girls on the team, she saw it as a means to an end, and she was happy enough. During her junior year, Amanda became involved with a boy named Tyler Kiss. He was the world to her, and she used him as an escape from her reality. After only a few months of dating, the two had sex, against Amanda’s good judgment, and Tyler forgot to use protection. Then the inevitable happened, she missed he period. Amanda was so frightened that she convinced her cousin Anthony to take her to a clinic. There she learned that she was indeed pregnant with Tyler’s child.

Amanda ran to the boy, telling him the news, and he freaked, saying he wanted nothing to do with the child, within a few weeks, he and his family moved away, and she never heard from the boy again. Amanda was distraught, but she did not want an abortion. She tried as best as possible to hide her pregnancy from her parents, but as she got bigger, they began to suspect something was amiss. Her brother and cousin went with Amanda to get her ultrasound, and looking at her child, she felt the happiest she’d ever felt in her short life. She took the picture home, and stashed it is a textbook to hide it from her parents. But her mother decided to clean her room the next day, and the picture popped out from its hiding place.
Amanda’s parents were furious, and Amanda fought with them, telling them she was keeping her baby no matter what happened. That night she was kicked out of her house, and she took up residence with her cousin.

Amanda is a very positive girl and has a lot of love to share with everyone she comes into contact with. Some people in her school disliked her for her teen pregnancy, but she ignored their stares and comments, having friends to back her up. She sometimes has a cynical attitude, and can be bossy and pushy, but she still manages to keep a smile on the faces of the people around her.

Amanda gave birth to her son Aaron Christopher Alves on January 11th, and he made her happy to be alive. He was only a few months old when her cousin convinced her to go on the senior trip with the others. He said he would take care of the baby so she could have her last hurrah with her friends. She thanked him and prepared to go.
But she could never prepare for what would happen on the trip.

Advantages: Amanda is not just fighting for herself, her son is waiting for her. She has too much to lose to let herself die now.
Disadvantages: Amanda does not have any experience with fights, and she is rather weak, so she could be overpowered easily.

Conclusion: Well, we've certainly had our share of mothers trying to make it home to their poor, sweet little children. So far, none of them have come close, but maybe Amanda will be able to shake that trend up a bit with her gun. Either way, the results should be deliciously dramatic.
