Different Day. Same Shit

Dani slowly opened his eyes when he felt somebody was nudging him on the ribs. He groaned and yawned as daylight entered his sight.

"Eh, princess" he heard the voice of Eduardo "You are going to be late for class if you keep dozing off like that. We are already here"

Dani looked around, at the cars around them. Lots of kids were entering the school building hurriedly, like human locusts that were throwing themselves at crops. Dani could never understand that thing. Those people who were the most anxious about getting to class in time usually were the same ones that wanted to leave early. What a complicated universe, the mind of a teenager. Dani should know about it, since he was an adolescent too, but he always had felt somewhat disconnected from the rest of kids around that school. It was not that Dani disliked his classmates, actually he thought some of them were pretty cool people. The thing is, Dani always had wanted to keep himself separated from other people, though he was not rude about it. He had just a lonely disposition.

Actually, it was nice of his cousin to take the time to drop him off at the school on his way to work. However, Dani could not avoid to fall asleep at the car, the soft and rhytmic movement of the structure rocking him like he was some sort of a baby in his craddle.

"So..."Eduardo said "I will pick you up at five o´clock in the afternoon, after getting out of the office. Or do you have something else to do after school?"

Danil quickly revised his schedule. He had planned to go to the hardware store to pick up some pieces that he required for a project he was working in. However, he felt increasingly tired. He had not been sleeping well this last days, and the store was a long walk away from both the school and his aunt´s home. In any other day, Dani could have walked the entire route without breaking a sweat. But he just felt damned tired today.

"Nah", he replied to his cousin´s question "Just don´t be late, please. I would hate to get late and having your mother mad at us because we couldn´t be home for dinner. You know how she is"

Eduardo snickered.

"Yeah, I know..." he said while fixing his tie "Anyway, just have a nice day and all that stuff"

"You too, cus..." Dani nodded while he opened the car door and slung his bag over his shoulder.

He then made his way to class, his mind lost in his thoughts. While he was walking through the parking lot he made a quick visual scan to see if he recognized someone. He saw nobody he knew around. Nobody he liked, at least. With a shrug of his shoulders, he made his way to the school entrance. Before going to class however, he would hit the library. There were lots of things to do today.
