Named for the original small lane at its center, though it has gradually expanded to encompass several side streets as well, the shopping strip on 34th Street is a center of activity for patrons of smaller, privately-owned shops and boutiques. Notable locations include a bookstore, an antiques shop, and an eclectic Wicca-based store specializing in crystals, Tarot cards, and other odds and ends. Along the rest of the strip lie various clothing and jewelry boutiques, and food trucks are known to frequent the area to cater to those looking for a bite to eat while they shop.

Lucas watched and smiled as Oph wrapped up at the counter. It was really sweet and cute. Maybe there'd be a place for an interaction like this in his book? He wasn't sure, but it could definitely find a place in there.

"Oh yeah, absolutely," he said to her proposal, "I'm famished."

And the place was getting to him a little. Very knick-knacky, even if it was a little comfy. The kitsch was wearing on him just a little too much.

"Food trucks?" he asked, "Or somewhere a little more sit-down-y?"

"I want garlic bread and soup," she muttered out as she put her loot inside of the paper gift bag that Ann handed to her after paying. "Like, chicken soup or something."

She waved at Ann and started to walk away from the shop. She managed to get to the door before Lucas. She turned around, seeing Ann was already back at playing a farm game on her phone. Ophelia wanted to play the game too so that Ann could get free things, but she'd always forget about it. Tonight, she would. Or, try to remember. Anyways, she asked Lucas a simple question.

"And what do you want?"

She held the door. Ophelia always held the door for her brothers and parents, so the habit continued in her daily life.

"Maybe there's a Panera Bread nearby," Lucas said, "that sounds good right about now."

It had been a decent while since he had a sandwich. Like, a really legit sandwich. He was ready for some comfort food after what he had been feeling this morning. He blinked a few times, and then wondered why.

"They have these bread bowl things, where they put the soup into a bowl made out of bread, and you eat the soup and then the soupy bread, which is, heh, delicioso."

He stuck his thumbs in his pockets and walked out the door with a sly smirk plastered across his face.

[Lucas Diaz continued elsewhere.]
[+] Dependable People
yeah ive been relying on dependable people
the people who pick you up
when you fall down
and i cannot wait
for your reasons
why you werent with them when they came around

stick an arm out for dependable people
give my left leg and
give it a pull
i would be lying if i said it was easy
i think that isnt unreasonable

if im looking for dependable people
im looking in every church
and steeple
and if i knew just what it took
to become one
id consider it the highest evil

yeaaaah looking out for dependable people
that crush you to bits
and inhale you through the nose
like fortune cookie paper
and bad haircuts tapered
dependable people love you more than you know

leaving three scars for dependable people
proof of innocence, admission of guilt
one month's passage
one life's passing
i'd give them all away
for a bucket of silt
