Girl #36 Anna had found herself in such a vile, heartless game. She questioned herself if she would kill. Better yet, could kill. She was probably the least violent person on earth and it broke Anna's heart to know that everywhere she stepped, someone's life could have ended on that spot. She could barely stomach it. All common sense had seemed to leave Anna, she had no track of time, no sense of direction, and no sense of what she should do. She was simply a blank and distant shell of her normal self and she needed something to wake her up.

After wandering for what seemed like weeks, she stumbled into a cluster of plain, boring buildings. Anna has just about collapsed into one of the standard millatary beds, throwing her lacross stick onto the floor. Shaking, she pulled out bread from her bag and nibbled on it. Even though her body was still recovering from it's constant lack of food, it even knew that all this constant movement needed it's nurishment.

After her breief snack she began looking around the building she was in. There was literally nothing except lots of cots, and even more of gray. She began to walk down the long isle of beds gently running her fingers across the cold metal frames. After getting to the last bed she gently sat down and attempted to sleep.

After about 15 minutes of failed sleep Anna got up and started to grow bored. She didn't want to leave the building because she needed rest, but she wasn't quite ready to sleep yet and leaving could lead to many more hours of walking and she wasn't prepared for that.

As she paced up and down the left row of beds she noticed something from underneath the matress. Using all her might, she lifted up the matress and pulled out an old, wrinkled piece of paper. She opened it up to see a man and woman smiling back at her. It was an old photograph of a happy couple hugging. She smiled to herself and put the picture in her pocket.

She knew the picture belonged to a soldier who was long gone, possibly dead. She felt touched that he loved this woman so much that he brought it to war, or what ever this hell hole was. This simple act of love started to pull Anna back to reality.

Maybe all hope was lost. Maybe Anna would survive this. Maybe this could make Anna stronger.

As she smiled she gathered her bag and lacrosse stick and rested on a bed near the door.
