70's Horror Movies 3: Swooooooooord Caaaaaaaaaaane

[SHOOT FIRST] [Ask later]

Comprising both the kitchen and the dining hall itself, the cafeteria is a large room with multiple long tables. Having been converted an older dining room already present in the building, the cafeteria also possesses a fireplace with a large fireguard; there is still wood inside it but it has been dampened and rotted by the passage of time. This conversion has also left the room with its high ceiling and variety of ornaments such as family shields and portraits on the walls, along with art pieces donated by families who appreciated the asylum's services. At the back of the dining hall is a set of double doors which lead into the kitchen, which in itself is relatively plain, besides two industrial-sized ovens and a similarly heavy duty dishwasher. The kitchen is in the same state it was left in when the asylum was abandoned, many of the pots and pans hanging on racks and some drawers containing cooking utensils, although the only potentially dangerous objects left are now rusty and dulled beyond use.

((Alessio Rigano continued from The show starts at five. Bring snacks.))

It was dark.

But it was better than the cellar. Al could see more. It was a dining room, it looked like.

Alessio had no clue in which room he stumbled, as he was totally unfamiliar with this part of the asylum. It was spooky, even. Going through an abandoned asylum during nighttime was spooky enough even if he wasn't in the situation. It reminded me of horror movies where he was a character who would killed from behind. Except, he could actually be killed here.

It was nighttime, though. He should sleep. Under the table. And so he laid down. Nobody will come to find him.

Thoughts of someone coming in and killing him were making it harder for him to close his eyes.

((Dot's spirit manifested.))

She didn't like being awake during the night. She enjoyed sleeping and night was the perfect moment to do that. There were no obligations such as a schedule - other than a sleeping one, though - and she didn't need to worry about anything else then getting some shut-eyes.

Her body also didn't like being awake at night. It felt sluggish, especially after the workout that was stabbing Iz a couple of time in the head. She found herself out of breath by moments due to her charge. Her sword was tightly gripped and slid alongside of her. Even it looked easy to wield, the weight was dragging the girl down.

She considered dropping it a couple of time. She had a knife: what she needed to kill someone easily along with her taser. While the sword was annoying, it was a necessity. Someone could think about attacking her and they would, perhaps, back away when they saw the blade she carried.

Or maybe it would be the head of Iz hanging near the ground while Dot dug her fingers into her hair. She wasn't sure yet.

She thought about Jae. He would be happy about seeing Iz's head. He would probably be happy for Dot too and they will be friends again. That's what will happened in any case. Jae hated Iz and now Jae will love Dot and they will be friends again.

She entered the cafeteria. There were leftovers of something blocking the doors. People were obviously staying in there or they were until they decided to leave and leave the entry opened. She didn't like that. It was something odd.

Why did they leave? Where did they go? What made them decide this place wasn't safe anymore and left it? She couldn't answer any of the questions so she just bit her the inside of her cheek. She felt anxiety in her chest. She sidestepped and laid her back against a wall.

Already better.

She felt dumb. She had gotten lost inside the asylum and she didn't know where she was. Well, she knew she was inside and somewhere where people used to eat but she didn't know we're exactly she was.

She laid her sword against the wall, her finger still digging against the monster's head. Her bloodied fingers dug blindly inside her bag until she found something in the shape of a cylinder. He pulled out the flashlight and pointed it toward the inside of the building.

She pressed the button after some searching.

The light made her see more clearly the tables and the seats. There was nothing wrong. Apart from the black mass laying below a table, its eyes sparkling back at her. The sight sent chills down her back and she could do nothing but scream.

And dropping the flashlight, shattering it into a million splinters.

All nights Alessio had the luck of not being interrupted by someone while sleeping. Every night.

Of course this streak of him not getting murdered while sleepin' was going to end some time (well, if you don't count Michael waking him up from sleep by kicking him unconscious).

Unfortunately the time apparently was now. A girl whose scream sounded familiar had walked in and that scream happened after she used her flashlight to see Al.

And then the light disappeared.

Al couldn't see who it was, but after a couple seconds of staring at the light, blinded by it again, shortly considering playing dead until he realised that he breathed so heavily that she must have seen how his chest went up and down, he stood up only to bump his head against the table.

Now he held both of his hands against his hit head. He knew this pain. It was painful for a moment, but it will go away after resting. But he couldn't rest, because he had to move away from the table to gather some distance from Dot.

Dot. That was the person. The scream.

He couldn't see shit. So he walked across the room, hoping she would go away to not initiate a confrontation.

(( Jonathan Gulley continued from Say You're One Of Them ))

Jon spent most of the afternoon patching himself up. He had bandaged his face, removed the three hanging fingernails on his left hand and bandaged it all up as well.

It was late at night now, and he just needed a place to rest. Maybe tomorrow that perpetual state of vertigo will leave, or maybe it's a sign he won't even wake up. Who knows anymore?

He decided the cafeteria was as good a place as any to hold out.

He carried the machete and toilet seat as he moved closer to the door.

He really needed to find a better way to hold these things.

He decided this place was as good as any before someone inside let out a scream.

Jon should turn around, but... after all of this he couldn't bring himself to. Maybe he could still help someone, maybe.

He put on the nixon mask, and bolted into the room.

Dorothy froze for a second. She stared at the darkness, she blinded herself by opening the light and dumbly dropping it. Now, her position was revealed and she was just a sitting duck. She stared into the darkness for a couple of seconds. She heard the person's head knock itself on the table.

She followed the sound with her head. The footsteps running away from her. She was almost relieved but the lingering anxiety made her back up against the wall. It felt cold against her back, feeling it making its way in her body. She grabbed her sword and held her breath. The atmosphere was crushing her, she wanted to hear where was the person but the silence deafened her.

She looked to the right and then to the left. It was useless because of the darkness. She hoped that her eyes would adjust themselves to the darkness but she could only see the black shadows blinding. She bit her lips then sprinted to the exit. She ran, hitting Iz's head and her sword against the wall and the floor, announcing even more her posi-

Thud.

Something sent her down to the floor.

Normally, she would apologize to the person she ran into. Normally, she would ask the person if they were okay.

But this time, her first reflex was to send a kick flying straight to the person's knee.

Alessio had a flashlight, too. But he did not know where exactly it was. He never used it, never had to. He was not afraid of the dark.

But now he needed light to see what's happening. So he searched blindly in his bag, felt many things and then finally found something that felt like a flashlight.

He pointed it near the entrance, where he heard the noises.

Switch.

Light.

There were two people lying on the ground.

Dorothy and what the fuck, a masked man.

Dorothy was bloodied too. She was covered in blood. Did she just die?

What happened?

Switch.

Darkness.

Al took some more steps in a random direction.

(Permission to skip Jon is a-ok)

She was now under the light. Her eyes were just adjusting to the darkness that the light ruined that for her. She cringed at the blinding light, snapping her head away from rays stabbing her eyes. She raised a hand to shield off the light, dropping the shamshir in the progress.

Her starry eyes wiggled in their orbits. She blinked rapidly, shooting the stars away from her mind. Her blindness left her and she was able to calm her breathing. She stabilized it then looked at the person she kicked. She would have jumped if she was doing the crab on the floor.

The person was wearing a mask. Something to hide their identity. That was an actual smart idea. Well, in theory. If you were a prolific killer, you could hide behind it but wearing that was super suspicious. It only scared Dot even more, letting a shriek escape her throat.

Two people were in this room with her. The one is front of her and another one with a flashlight pointed at her. Her survival instinct kicked in. She lunged at the boy (or man) wearing the mask. She, midway through her attack, realized she was lacking a weapon. Her sword was laying beside her, her knife was hidden in her bag beside her taser.

She swung with the only thing she had in her hand.

Maybe I shouldn't have worn the mask before running inside.

That was what Jon was thinking a kick to his knee sent him to the floor.

Maybe I shouldn't have even walked in here.

That was what Jon was thinking when someone shined a flashlight on the both of them.

Oh shit...

That was what Jon thought when he realized the girl was covered in blood and carrying a severed head of some girl around.

Oh shit!

That was his thought when the girl swung the head at him.

The world turned into pink and black stars again as Jon reeled back from the hit. The 1/8th of a cadaver's teeth collided down at Jon's eyebrow and nose through his mask.

He rolled onto his front, his face shielded by his hands, his screaming muffled.

Holy shit, she's out of her mind! What the fuck?!

That was what Jon screamed internally after getting wailed on by a human skull.

Wait, there were noises again.

Alessio turned on the light again, now, from a different direction. Dorothy smashed at the masked person with a hairy ball thing.

Oh Jesus, a skull what the fuck. That was a pretty gross thing. Disgusting. Ew. Spooky. Creepy.

He also saw and heard a sword falling down.

He was tired, he didn't want to run there, he'd rather go away and sleep. But oh well, he wanted to have his sword back. The thing next to Dorothy was his sword he stole from Maria after all. He needed it. Otherwise he'd have nothing against Dot or the masked person, except his useless gun.

So he put the fake gun back into his backpack and with his flashlight in hand, sprinted to the confrontation between the two, not to interrupt them from fighting, but to try to grab the sword.

She just smacked someone over the head with another head.

That was interesting.

The opponent in front of her wasn't so scary after all. He was just wearing a mask and was armed but obviously got surprised by Dot's sucker punch. Or rather sucker kick. Probably smacking him with a skull also didn't help the poor guy's mind. He was probably like Dot. Trying to understand why there was a flashlight pointed at them and losing his fucking mind when a girl covered in muck and blood hit the soul of his body with a skull.

Using that moment of shock, Dot used the boy's shoulders to prop herself up, throwing herself farther from the center of the beam of light that was rapidly approching her. The person who was holding the flashlight was running toward them. Dot saw the sparkle of the light reflecting off the blade she dropped then rolled her eyes.

Why did she have to drop her scariest weapon of all thing?

While it was heavy and cumbersome, she still needed it to fend for herself from attacks of other players. Like, right now. If she saw the sword, she could just slash the boy on the ground then face the person that was rushing them. She considered pulling out her knife but it was deeply burried inside her back.

She decided to leave. She didn't want to get her hands even bloodier.

((Dot ran away from their dreams))

Jon crawled around on the ground. He tried to get up but felt some arms push him over again as footsteps trailed away behind him.

He heard a voice, he tried to help, and what did he get?

He heard the door slam behind him.

He gets tripped, thrown to the wolves.

Now what? He shook the pain out of his head and looked around, his vision returning. He looked around for the other individual, the one shining the flashlight.

It was that kid from the bar, Alessio, picking a sword up from the ground.

Jon would've guessed now that Michael was gone that Al thought it was time to finish the job.

He couldn't find the toilet seat lid, but he managed to grasp the machete.

It was kind of funny, Jon was trying to get himself killed, and now there was a real chance of that happening, yet now he wants to live. He couldn't stay here, he had to leave, but he knew he couldn't do that without a fight.

He backed towards the door, pointing the machete at Al.

Got the sword. Girl escaped though.

Alessio had a sword in one hand and the flashlight at the other.

And in front of him there was the mask with another sword.

"Why did you attack Dorothy?"

Did he attack Dorothy? He probably did. Dorothy defended herself with the skull. The masked guy was the reason of the scuffle between them and Dorothy. Yes, that's how it was. That made it easier for Alessio to attack.

So he swung his sword at the crook.

What?

He ran in here because she was screaming! Because she was the one being attacked by him! He couldn't even say anything in reply to that! The absolute hypocrisy sputtering from his mouth, like he actually cared!

He... he should really just kill Alessio where he stood, the whole world would be better off at this point.

Al wouldn't give him the choice anyways, as he rushed towards him sword extended.

Jon tried to parry, but Al knocked his machete to the floor, following up with a horizontal slice towards Jon's throat.

Jon ducked and lurched to Al, trying to knock him over. He hoped this would work.

Got him.

Nixon was disarmed. Alessio still had the pokerface when trying to hit Nixon with the shamshir again, but Mr. President managed to avoid the hit and jumped at him.

Now, with one arm Al was holding the sword and the other the flashlight pointing at Nixon.

Then, the flashlight was rolling away from them, probably three meters away from the two of them. It was the less important thing for Al. His sword was still tightly grabbed with his right hand, but Al felt pain at his back of the head as he fell backwards.

Now he was lying on the ground, having lost the balance. He positioned his sword in front of his torso to protect it.

Alessio fell to the ground with a thud, raising his sword in retaliation. Jon hopped back, picking up his own machete to bring it down on Al.

*CLANK*

Metal clashed against metal as Al's shamshir blocked Jon's machete.

*CLANK*

Blade smashed against blade again.

*WA-TINK*

Alessio rolled out of the way, metal clashed against ground. He turned and kicked Jon in the back of his knee, forcing him to stumble.

Al swung his sword again, and Jon tried to block. Metal clashed against metal as Jon's arm was swung back from the force of it.

Jon stumbled back and Al swung again.
