And again- and then the beeping started.
She kept her fists clenched against the sound and her eyes on the steeple. She took another step forward.
And another.
And another.
She wasn't sure if it was strength this time, or courage, or just resignment, but she knew she wouldn't be turning back. She stopped walking.

She waited.
There was a short scream and a wet sound and then she was gone.
