The start of something truly absurd

Since nobody else is here...

Those that are able to make it through the mud, wet, and cold found in the swamp can find hope at the key. In the distance, a sailboat can be seen at the coast line. However as students move closer across the coarse sand they will find their hope to have been short-lived as unfortunately, the boat in question is merely a shipwreck amongst a small reef in the shallow water.

Michelle tensed up as the attack failed to remove the boy's gun as he jumped back. She noticed he was losing his footing and she took several steps forward. At this range she could easily pounced at him. The only problem was the gun. She ignored his pointless yelling as she went ahead to process what the do next. If she killed the boy then she would look like a killer in front of the two girls. Not what she wanted. She gently crept forward as the crazy boy.

Keep talking my friend... Let your guard down for a second strike. This time the arm...

She never got the chance. She noticed the boy reach out for his gun. She knew the moment he would draw it she had to avoid it. Somehow she had to dodge the bullet.

The gun was coming out of the boy's pocket.

He froze.

She froze.

She stood there watching his hand as it stopped pulling the gun from the pocket. What had happen? Then he suddenly shoved it back inside. Michelle was confused. Wasn't he going to attack her? Instead he simply yelled out a few words that Michelle simply ignored and ran off.

Confused Michelle didn't know what to do next. She was expecting to be shot in the next few moments. Instead he ran off.

With the tension gone she scratch her muddy head. Not sure what to do she turned around to face the girls.

"What the fuck were you thinking!?" yelled Ema.

Michelle raised an eyebrow at the question.

"To get the gun?" She answered.

Obviously her sudden action baffled the creepy girl. So much for being creepy. Now she was just... Weird? Was that an improvement? Oh well.

"Girls. I think we need to find out how fucked we are." Announced Eve. The girl that Michelle actually liked seem less shock and more reasonable.

Eve put away her sword as she sat down while crossing her legs.

"Put your weapons behind your backs, and sit down. We need to calm down. And we need to talk."

Michelle figured that it wasn't a bad idea. She was already calm and talking might improve her position with the two girls. She walked towards the girls and jabbed the crowbar behind her as she sat down. As Eve looked into some sort of book, Michelle took the opportunity to looked at the two girls without the crazy boy annoying the crap out of her.

Eve was slightly odd but reasonable, sane and trustworthy. She also had nice hair. Michelle simply like the girl already. She wondered if they would of been friends back at school.

Meanwhile Ema was scary. The smile and the reaction seemed like signs of slight insanity or mood issues. Michelle didn't quite appreciate the fact that it didn't seem like Ema took care of her hair. Then again Michelle was covered in mud and not one to talk. Overall Michelle secretly prayed that they would lose Ema in someway.

"Why do you want to live? What would force you to attack a man with a gun, knowing that if you screw up, you'll be shot and die?" Said Eve.

The question snapped Michelle from her small wandering thoughts.

"Oh um... I want to live because being alive is so much better then being dead? I think we can all agree on that. As for the gun well... I prefer knowing I have the advantage against some who has a gun with the change of taking it then waiting for a time for someone who has a gun and isn't afraid to use it. Honestly if we met someone that was willing to kill us and all we had are these weapons then we would be probably dead. So my answer is that I might as well risk it with someone who isn't willing to use a gun with the chance of obtaining it instead of waiting around for someone who will... Is that a good enough answer" She answered with a long speech. Hopefully the girls would agree with her.

"So uhh... What now Eve?" She asked the girl.

Robert held his breathe as he witnessed the attempt to steal what seemed to be a gun, and the discussion that followed after it. Deciding to make himself noticed, he took a few steps forward and was then in view to the girls. "Am I the only one who didn't 'sleep' well?" He asked, trying to make conversation. Robert then looked around the area, trying to pinpoint his location. The kit he was given had a map inside, though he did not feel like checking it at the time. Instead, Robert loosened the grip on his trench knife, dragging the thing around had already gotten annoying. Yet, he felt safe having it around him.

Already being the awkward boy he knew himself to be, Robert Herrmann stood there, uncertain and overly cautious. Would they have felt mad, or worse, suspicious, that he stood there, watching, listening? Or would they not care, as long as one had her chocolate bar and the others were safe, alive? Listening to Michelle's speech, he thought to himself why he wanted to live. Other people on this island wanted to live- heck, they all did. What made him better than them? Why should he be the one who gets to live? Robert stopped thinking, as all his thoughts led to considering the game in which he was forced to play.

"So uhh... What now Eve?" He looked at who he guessed Michelle was talking to and frowned. Wasn't she Eva? Or wait, no, isn't that the third girl? Robert sighed to himself, already hating the first few minutes of being on this island and nothing major happened to him yet, besides waking up.

[[skipping Chib due to inactivity and rolls for Eve]]

She licked her lips. Uncertainty went into her gut. Michelle... well, a player to play with? She seemed trustworthy on her first loo-

Sigh.

Eve twitched, her hand now behind her back, gripping the sword.

"I think I would prefer somewhere that isn't going to be ambushed by every fucking person in the world."

What was the best route here again? Get the person to come out? Right, and if we had another know it all who wanted to attack people with guns. Or even worse, if the person had a gun and Michelle tried to take it again.

Maybe... it would be easier being alone. Sure, it'd be lonely, but... Maybe it... no, some people were worth staying with, but... and... maybe... maybe...

Eve gritted her teeth, closed her eyes, her mind repeating itself, the problem, no solution.

Fuck playing.

And then she opened them. "Ema, it's been a pleasure knowing you." Quicker than the group could blink, Eve grabbed her bag and her sword, sprinting off into the forest.

Leaving behind an arrow in the sand pointed straight at Robert.

Ema didn't actually have a weapon to lay down, unless anyone was terrified of movie merchandise, so she just sat down feeling like the odd one out. Heh, odd one out, as if it was any sort of time to care about fitting in. Though, it was less caring about it, more noting how, despite everything, it just placed her right back in a state of normality.

It had certainly been an interesting first day, no doubt about it. Even though she'd missed most of it, thanks to the massive dose of tranquiliser she'd inhaled, serious crap had started happening almost the moment she'd woken up. Meeting a bunch of new people and witnessing what could have almost been a fatal argument, to just name the most obvious. But it was more than that. Over those last few minutes leading up to dusk, Ema had quite probably experienced more shifts in emotion and world-view than she had in the rest of her life combined. Then again, she had never been particularly level-headed, and the reality of her situation could certainly be blamed for adding to the lapse in stability.

The other two girls talked for a short while, and again, Ema felt almost comfortable in the normality of being left out, whatever it would mean for her in the future. Michelle still seemed wary of her, probably for a good reason she herself hadn't figured out yet, and was quite clearly avoiding having to address her. Finally, the girl with the crowbar gave a short speech, summing up her feelings on the 'game', which seemed to Ema to amount to "Play to win and hope you get lucky." She would've said something, maybe agreed on how being alive was indeed better than being dead, but decided against it. Instead, she just held her tongue, wondering what Eve would have to say in return.

"Ema, it's been a pleasure knowing you."

Oh, that was pretty nice of her to say. Most people seemed to fi-- oh. Eve was legging it for the swamp and the forest beyond, before Ema or Michelle could manage to speak up, let alone stand and follow her. She probably hadn't even meant it, she'd probably only said it to placate Ema, make her feel a little less alone and doomed. In that case, Ema decided, maybe it was still a nice gesture, but running away straight after kind of cancelled it out.

Ema never noticed the arrow that had been drawn in the sand, she was too busy single-mindedly running after the fleeing girl. With the split-second she'd had to decide what to do, she'd decided Eve was probably the best hope she had for companionship, possibly even a true friend, on the godforsaken island, and that she wasn't going to let that escape. She almost fell over her own feet as she hastened to stand up, losing balance as she tried to get up and brush stray hairs out of her eyes simultaneously. Each second she wasted let Eve get further way, so she regained her footing and collected up her own belongings as quickly as she possibly could, already a little out breath before she even started running. Desperately, as Eve disappeared out of sight, the frantic girl called out "Don't go! Wait for me!".

Doubtful it was heard by who it was meant for. But it didn't stop Ema running about as fast as her weedy legs could manage, despite having no idea which direction to go after she hit the swamp.

Michelle look at the girls dashing off. Left alone she scratch her head at the confusion. At this point if everyone was leaving she might as well head out herself. With the sudden actions of everyone she failed to notice to appearance of Rob as she drew her crowbar and ran off again. It seem like she would never get the chance to find sane allies.
