Morgan couldn't help but laugh. The high school reunion had long been a trope of many a comedy film, going back to when his parents had been in high school. The funny part about it was that he figured real life probably echoed what you'd see in the movies. Some of the big-shot high school elite would end up being dismal failures; the most unexpected person would end up being famous or world-renowned, and everyone else would fall into some form of surpassed or failed expectation. It was, at least, what he figured would happen. He suspected if anyone was going to be famous, it might be one of his buddies. Both Michael and Henry were both incredibly smart guys with aspirations of doing some really neat stuff.

Sometimes he wished he had that kind of aspirational mentality.

Pushing himself back to a seated position, Morgan blinked a few times as he gauged his level of intoxication. Mercifully, it seemed as though the spins had dissipated and he had his equilibrium back. That was fantastic, because that meant that it was time for one very important milestone of the evening.

Morgan needed another drink.

"I bet there'll be a lot of people telling stories about their kids. You'll probably have a couple of the football guys who are working as used car salesmen going over their glory days," he thought for another moment.

"But hey, that's high school, right? Hard to pick your future right this very second, though that's what they tell you."

Shakily making his way back to his feet, he gestured to the house with his head.

"Thanks for the company! You're not so bad, yourself!" He grinned. "But I think it's time to go and get ready for round two. You game?"

Not waiting for a response, Morgan set out towards the house. His legs were still a little heavy and he still stumbled just a little, but this was a party. While the diversion outside had been great, he felt spectacular, ready to get right back to it.

He wondered if anything interesting was happening inside. He supposed he'd probably hear all about it at school on Monday if he'd missed anything good.

Ahh, high school.

Regina laughed along with Morgan and pushed herself up into a seated position to match Morgan. She was glad he could pull himself up. He must be feeling better, meaning their time laying on the grass was probably coming to an end. Morgan went on about how the reunion would probably go, football players trying to relive their youth, people talking about their new families and such. It was a nice thought. Seeing how much everyone will have changed and grown by then, she couldn’t wait, really. She wondered how many people would remember her fondly. A small smile graced her lips and she pulled up her knees and rested her head on them sideways, still watching Morgan as he spoke.

She knew that she would remember them all, that was for sure.

Morgan shakily stood up from his place on the ground and decided he was ready for round two of #Swiftball. Regina nodded at him and waved him off ahead of her. She watched him go in, still a bit off balance, but nowhere near the disaster he was when she came outside. That was good. She was glad he could go have more fun now. She looked up at the night sky again as the side door closed behind his retreating form and she smiled up at the stars above. It really was a beautiful night.

Regina stood herself up and dusted off the back of her pants. She stretched her back out a bit and sighed contentedly. She may as well go inside too, she figured. Who knows, maybe she’d have some fun this time. It was funny, she came out here to try and escape all the drunken nonsense, but ended up with one of the drunkest people here. And hey, she had to admit, their conversation had been very nice. High School was almost over, but she still had the chance to make a few more lasting memories, right?

“Time to head inside.” She said to herself quietly.

The night was still young, after all.
