Description: Austin stands at just over 5'11, although his driver's license clearly exaggerates this statistic, claiming that he is 6'1.  He weighs 176 lbs. although he tends to fluctuate between 170 and 180 depending on the time of year and whether he is playing an organized sport at the given time.  Austin has a tendency to exaggerate his "masculinity", in fear that he will be "outted" if he isn't masculine enough.  He has dark brown, almost black hair and a nice body (six pack abs, guns, etc.) from his very physically active lifestyle.  His nose is thin, medium in size and pointy and his eyes are a dark chocolate brown, giving off a mysterious aura and the impression that Austin may or may not be hiding something.  Austin is very handsome and he knows it.  He's notorious for being a real player with the ladies, although he's never actually had sex with any of his girlfriends and only uses them as a front to cover his sexuality.
Clique: Austin is a jock and friends with the student athletes from all four surrounding schools. These friends include Ricky Callahan, Shawn Heartgreeder, Eric Silvestedt and Colt Valero among others.  Because of his chauvenistic and sometimes seemingly bigoted behaviour many are under the impression that Austin Spencer is merely an arrogant elitist.  Of course most of Austin's actions merely represent a front for all of his insecurities.

Taylor Brennan: Austin harbors a borderline obsessive crush on the popular outwardly gay boy at his school.
Ali Grayston: One of Austin's many flings, the Queen Bee of Bathurst is amongst the most famous of the jock's so called conquests.  Ask Austin and he'll tell you he broke up with Ali; ask Ali and she'll tell you she broke up with Austin.  The truth?  The breakup was mutual.  They were just using each other for different reasons.
Other: Austin comes from a very strict and Conservative Catholic family, his father a former military man, war hero and devout patriot.  Because of his father's close minded attitude towards the issue of homosexuality, Austin has struggled immensely trying to come to terms with the fact that he is gay.

Description: Austin is quite easy on the eyes, and he knows it. The epitome of tall, dark and handsome, Austin stand at just under 6’1, with broad shoulders and a trim, muscular physique obtained from spending many hours at both high school soccer and baseball practices. He is also devoted to spending time pumping iron and exercising at the gym. His toned body makes the girls fawn over him like a teen idol. His shortly cropped dark brown hair is slightly wavy; his eyes are a dark and piercing brown, almost black and always make him appear like he’s hiding something inside. His skin is a warm tan, and he possesses an equally Italian and Greek look inherited from his mother.

Personality wise Austin is known to be a player. Having dated many of Hobbsborough’s hottest young ladies, Austin has a history of estranging himself from each of his many girlfriends of the past. Many believe Austin is simply a womanizing prick, or perhaps even a misogynist; no one expects the truth. Austin is gay. Coming from a large Catholic family he’s learned to hate himself for it, believing partly that he needs to repress his natural feeling and at the same time finding himself extremely attracted to one of his schoolmates. Austin has been in love with Taylor Brennan since perhaps the first moment he saw the current sophomore. Although they have had little interaction, Austin finds himself thinking about Taylor all the time, especially in the late hours of the night as he struggles to fall asleep. Taylor is oblivious to this obsession, and views Austin as an egotistical jerk. Austin is perhaps one of the few people Taylor dislikes, but this is because Taylor, like the rest of Hobbsborough many students doesn’t know the real Austin Spencer. Beneath the reputation he has built for himself as a bullheaded jock with nothing more on his mind than tits, pussy and sports, lies a chivalrous and romantic soul that is the real Austin.

Austin still has major issues with his sexuality and exerts an attitude of general homophobia and bigotry. Having virtually no one to talk to about his sexuality has left him feeling almost isolated and alone. To the outer world however, he exerts an image of confidence and egotism, having found his natural niche in the area of organized sports from a very early age. Having been introduced to such activities as little league and children’s soccer at the YMCA before he even started school Austin seemed bound from an early age to be destined to play Varsity sports later in life. Following in the footsteps of his two older brothers and older sister, all three of whom were great Athlete’s back in the age of St. Andrew's Parochial School, (prior to the merger) Austin has spent many hours training to be the best at the mercy of his father, Jack Spencer, a former NFL linebacker and current conservative Republican Senator. A man who demand who demands nothing shy of perfection from all five of his children, Jack is notorious for his radical views on topics such as illegal immigration , abortion, and homosexuality. Adamant about his claims that he would disown any one of his children for such blasphemy as homosexuality as well as a received abortion in the case of his daughters, Jack sees the world as black and white, right and wrong.

Following his father into politics, Jack Spencer II, Austin’s eldest brother and closest sibling was verbally disowned from the family. This occurred when Jack Sr. became aware of his oldest son’s efforts lobbying in Congress for “blasphemous” policies such as free healthcare and college, and minority rights. This included the right for gays to marry in the state of New Jersey. Austin didn’t talk to Jack Junior for the next month, their father forbidding contact. Guiltily Austin knew that his brother’s efforts had been, in at least part, for him, Jack Junior knowing from early on, by some spark of brother’s intuition, that Austin was different. Jack was aware perhaps of Austin’s sexuality perhaps before even Austin himself, no sorry feat, considering Austin’s rough and masculine exterior. Six weeks later, in the fall of Austin’s junior year, Jack Junior and a group of fellow lobbyers were killed in a terrorist bombing conducted by radical religious fundamentalists. The death nearly pushed Austin over the edge, denial setting in. Anger came and went, but acceptance of his brother’s untimely demise never did. Internally Austin vowed to somehow avenge his brother’s death. Unbeknownst to Austin, he and his classmates themselves would become the victims of another terrorist plot and Austin’s chance for avengement would come sooner than expected.

Relationships: Taylor Brennan- Austin’s love for the oblivious sophomore borders on mild obsession. Although some Psychologists might tend to classify seemingly unreciprocated love as an unhealthy fixation with serious means to spiral out of control, this affection is innocent in reality and founded deeply in Austin’s well judged notions of the kind of person Taylor Brennan really is. Austin’s love for Taylor extends to the point of self sacrifice, and in a sick way, one might call their soon to be doomed situation in the upcoming Battle Royale romantic.
