Vietnamese class on a Friday afternoon

This is the hall for history classes, as well as language courses. As such, it is the most expansive hall in the school, taking up a large portion of the third floor. The hall is quite varied in character, with teachers decorating the areas near their classrooms as they please, and with many student projects displayed on the walls. The classrooms here are just as varied in character as the halls, with language classrooms displaying a strong bent towards culturally-appropriate decorations. Students are required to take at least three years of history, as well as two years of a foreign language. The languages offered by the school are Spanish, French, Latin, Vietnamese, and Mandarin Chinese.

((Natalia "Koala" Kowalski- Commence))

Koala groaned inwardly as she entered the Vietnamese classroom. It was the last class of the day, and the last on of the week as well. She didn't want to go an entire period having to speak entirely in Vietnamese, which was required in Mrs. Tran's class. She wanted to go home and read some books, maybe go out for a stroll in the park. Not be here, stuck in this horrible class.

Koala looked up at the board. Praying (No, hoping, she never did that anymore.) that there was no homework or a new project or something. She would have to spend the entire weekend doing this work, which usually infuriated her. Maybe she could get help from that Vietnamese girl...something Nguyen...maybe.

Please please please please please pleeeease let there be no homework...

...

Great.

Yes, there was homework, along with an entire work period. This was inevitable to anybody who knew Mrs. Tran's methods of teaching. The girl bashed herself for not predicting this.

Koala sat down at her desk, thankfully near the back. Her classmates were filing in, trying to chat before the bell rang. While they, and Mrs. Tran, were distracted, Koala whipped out her phone, and opened up the Google Translate app, her most valuable asset in this class. It wasn't always accurate, but it would do for now. She test-typed in "I use Google Translate for my homework" and saw what came out.

Perfect.

She tried to hide a smug smile as the bell rang and her classmates sat down. She was prepared.

In Hawaiian, Aloha means "Hello" and "Goodbye," the latter of which is appropriate considering how fast his V6 cast died

    ...apparently not good enough.

Mrs. Tran decided to be a bitch and assign a TON of homework, and they couldn't work in pairs. Koala struggled through her Vietnamese work until she couldn't take it anymore.

"Mrs. Tran, may I go to the bathroom?"

    "Ahem?"

"Oh, uh, tôi có thể đi vào phòng tắm?"

    "Có, Hoa hậu Kowalski."

    "Cảm ơn bạn"
