Revenge Is A Dish Better Served Cold

Ends of B15 and B66

A sprawling shopping mall which covers both an indoor and outdoor setting. The mall was abandoned in haste, and most of the stores were left wide open with merchandise still on the racks. Unfortunately, anything worthwhile has since been removed from the structure. A large clocktower sits in the center of the complex, slowly counting away the hours until the students' doom.

Revenge Is A Dish Better Served Cold

((Walter continued from Stopping for the Night))

The mall.

The place would no doubt be a favorite hang out for many teens if the island was inhabited. But alas, the island was a deserted wasteland, only there to be the final resting place of the teens who had been placed there. So all in all, the mall was not such a happy sight anymore. A boy looked at the debris of a store, seemingly destroyed by an explosion of some kind. It scared him really. To think that people, no kids, had that kind of power on hand. He shuddered involuntarily and moved away from the eerie sight.

The boy, Seth Malvice, aka Boy #66, was scared. He'd not only survived longer than around sixty other kids, but he was probably with the best of the best now. The true survivors. That thought chilled him. Was he prepared? He could kill, right? No doubt. None at all.

Seth attempted to psyche himself up, and began to look for a place to rest in the large mall. He found himself at the entrance to a medical supply store. Interesting. It could be helpful to have a few more bandages. He walked in and began to look around. Unbeknownst to him though, there was someone lurking In the shadows of the store, waiting for the time to strike.

Seth had found a few things he needed, but something was bothering him. A lot of the boxes were opened, as if someone had already been using them. It was kind of strange, and creepy. Also, he had this eerie feeling that someone was watching him. He didn't like it one bit.

Seth moved to look in the back room of the store, to see if anything was needed from there. He opened the door, to see that the light was already on. That should have been his signal to leave. He could have gotten away and never suffered if he had run. But sadly, Seth didn't. he walked right in.

As soon as Seth entered the room he felt a slicing at his face. His cheek suddenly burst into a stream of blood as a thin cut ran along it from his mouth to his ear. He cried out in pain and turned his head to see the face of Walter Smith string back at him. The knife Walter held shot out once more, slashing Seth's collarbone this time. Seth opened the door quickly as blood began to seep from his neck, and ran full speed out the door, dropping his daypack as he did so.

Walter followed effortlessly. He was in top condition for a chase such as this. Seth began to scale the staircase of the building, but tripped ands fell straight down. Walter pounced, stabbing him repeatedly in the back. Seth pushed him off and continued to run up, trying to escape the madman.

All the noise outside of the small store had caught the interest of a certain young blonde. Mariavel Varella exited the small eatery that she previously had occupied to see Seth running for his life from something. She stepped closer to the scene. He rifle at the ready. What she saw next both frightened her, and made her smirk. Walter Smith.... It's time you paid your dues.

Walter caught up to the running boy again and threw him against the railing of the upper floor. He was about to move in for the kill, until a resounding pop and a seething pain in his right shoulder turned his attention elsewhere. He dropped the knife that once belonged to Jin Li-Jen and looked to where the bullet had come from. He cursed to himself when he saw her. Now she was armed, and she no doubt wanted to settle their score. He had no chance. He had to run from a piece of filth. Disgusting.

Walter sprinted into the first store that he found. A glass shop. Mariavel was hot on his heels, she didn't even look to the other boy, who was now hunched over the railing, barely breathing. Mariavel entered the store cautiously, scanning the place. A shadow moved and she sprinted after it. A fist collided with her chest and sent her back a few feet. He tried to move in again but was only met with the butt-end of the rifle crushing his nose. He cried out in pain and anger, looking at the girl with venom. She matched his glare well. He wouldn't let her shoot at him though. He quickly took the closest shelf to him and pushed it onto her. She yelped as the glass crashed into her, cutting her in various places.

Walter attempted to escape, but it was in vain. He tried to run towards Seth, who was right in front of him. He wanted to use him as a shield. Before he could though, Mariavel fired three shots. Only one hit him though. The first shot lodged itself into his lower back, sending him crashing to the ground. The second and third however, flew past him, and straight into Seth's chest. The impact sent the boy over the railing. He was dead before his body slammed onto the floor below.

Mariavel cursed under her breath. She didn't want to kill him. But nothing could be done about it now. Walter got up and ran again, Mariavel following. He ran inside another store. Mariavel had decided to ditch the rifle at the glass store for now, and had the pistol in hand, ready to fire. She walked into the supply store slowly. She heard a crack and spun to her left only to be met with the impact of a broomstick to her ribcage. She doubled over in pain and Walter attempted once more to escape. She couldn't allow that to happen.

Mariavel charged after him and shot four bullets. The first and second missed, but the third lodged into his thigh and the last blew out the back of his knee, rendering escape impossible. She smirked and walked over to him, pistol pointed at his head.

"Ahh, Walter. How nice to see you in so much pain." She said smiling. "I wish to savor this moment, I hope you don't mind."

"You piece of filth. To be killed by the likes of you. It's a disgrace to my higher being!"

"That's where you're wrong Walter. You're less human than the bullet that'll soon be lodged into your skull."

"Really? Well, I indeed will die, which makes me very human."

"No... When I look at you Walter, all I see is a beast. A Monstrosity. And that, is the reason I'm able to take your life today." She pulled the hammer back on the gun and smiled.

"Adieu, Walter Smith." She fired. There was only one person left in the Mall alive.
