Gypsy Rap

The area was once green and wooded, however this portion of the island has since been logged through and the damage is plain to see. Large unkempt logs are scattered across the clear-cut area, caught amongst the endless stumps and what sparse foliage is available, which provides little cover. The area is silent, with little to no noise to be heard, creating an eerie sense of isolation.

Stacy shook her head. "There are a couple of boys around too. We were just about to bed down for the night. We're all pretty tired, and we're going to need to be able to think clearly in the morning. You can come cuddle with Sarah and I. We'll get some sleep and start up again in the morning."

Stacy smiled at Sapphire and spoke softly. "It is really good to see you again. I'm glad you're okay. Maybe...if we found each other again...maybe we could make it all the way...we could go home..."

That probably wasn't true, but she knew that they needed to believe that.

"Anyhow, bed awaits. Come get some sleep Bead Girl."

((We need to get to the next day, badly.))

((Sorry for crappiness of the post, and yeah, we need to transition/end this thread soon))

Stretching his arms and torso, and letting out a lengthy, almost comical yawn, Harun climbed to his feet. Giving only an obligatory, half-assed nod of acknowledgement to the new girl (was she a new arrival to the group? Or had she been here all the time and Harun had just been too thick to notice her? Meh, big fucking deal), Harun absentmindedly twirled his sword-gun over in his hands, completely forgetting nearly all the basic knowledge he knew about gun safety.

"Anyhow, bed awaits. Come get some sleep Bead Girl."

Harun felt he had had more than enough sleep just then. Any feelings of tiredness he still felt were just his eyes being stupid. The rest of him was fine.

Except for his bladder. He needed a piss.

"Be right back, need to pee. And if we're all gonna have another nap, guess it's my turn to keep watch."

And with that, he wandered off a short distance away to relieve himself behind one of the many generic tree stumps.

((Yeah, tossing my hat into hurrying it along with this crappy post.))

As the new entries arrived with the day time, Rashid decided it was now his turn to turn in. Settling his bag by the tree stump where he'd kept watch, he curled up and let the happy reunions quiet his nerves to slumber. And dispel the fact that rocky gravel wasn't exactly the best terrain for sleeping on, rolling and turning quite a bit before he even felt the first tinge of sleepiness. Eventually though, he seemed to settle to a position that wasn't quite as discomforting as he hoped.

"Shh..." he mumbled to himself as he attempted closed his eyes, "Only dreams now..."

((Giving Goose permission to drag Rashid out with him.))

((Sorry for the wait, I have no excuse. Oh, also, I'm Sarah's new handler, nice to be back again))

Sapphire's back! We're all back together again! And...who are they? What are they doing here?

Sarah glanced over Sapphire's shoulder as she squeezed the life out of the fellow Christian girl and saw...they were boys! Boys she didn't recognise! What were they doing here? Did Brendan know them?

...Brendan?

"Stacy, where's...BRENDAN!" Sarah yelled out. She let go of Sapphire like she was on fire and whipped her head around. There was the new boy, the one who Brendan hugged, there was the other two boys, one of which she recognized as that Muslim boy, and there was Stacy, and Sapphire, but...where was Brendan?

Sarah ran to the edge of their campsite, trying to look among the scattered logs for the boy she'd only just stitched up, or so it seemed like it. He couldn't run off like that! He couldn't have done that! He was wounded, he needed to rest! If his stitches came undone then he could start bleeding again!

"Brendan! Brendan come back! Please! Your...leg..." The petite girl tried calling out again, but she was still tired. She'd only just woken up, and now she had to find Brendan, make sure he was okay. If his stitches split she would never forgive him.

But...she couldn't do that right now. Every little bit wanted to go out and find him, but Stacy and Sapphire still needed her. She still needed Stacy and Sapphire, and try as she might, she wouldn't be able to convince them to go search for a boy they barely even knew.

Sarah held her hands to her chest, clenching each other in a tight vice. He needed to be okay.

She turned around once more and faced her companions. If she was any other girl, she would have started to cry. But no, this wasn't the time for that. No crying. None at all. Be a nice girl, tough girl.

After all this time, she was still tired. Sleeping sounded like a good idea.

"Guys, let's get some sleep. We...we can find Brendan later, and we can find a place to stay and help people!" Sarah blurted out, filled to the brim with her usual brand of optimism.

*

Several minutes later, the three girls were all set, cuddled up together just like before with Stacy. Sarah was roused back into the land of nod quite easily.

((So might as well get everyone asleep and transition to Day 6, no?))

Stacy smiled and closed her eyes. When they woke up things would be better.

Not actually, but they'd be better rested, and that was sort of better. She hadn't quite convinced herself of that, but as sleep came she found herself feeling strangely fine.

Her last thought before the blackness hit her was that she felt as though she could sleep for a couple of days and be very happy.

Sleep.

Yeah. That'd be good.

Although the togetherness was slightly awkward.

But nice and warm, considering there was no blankets.

...she might have to... find a blanket in the morning... with...

Sapphire let out a small yawn before her thoughts petered out.

She could think in the morning...

((Getting out of here with Rash, this thread is getting confusing now.))

After emptying his bladder (Harun had been waiting a long time to do that), he returned back to the make-shift "camp site" to find everyone soundly asleep. They were sleeping far too soundly for people mixed up in a murder game.

Even if Harun hadn't already promised to keep watch, he was pretty much obliged to now. He was never one for rudely waking people up, he was too meek and shy for that, and admittedly he was probably the least tired out of all of them. Even if he did get tired...no biggie, he was used to all-nighters browsing the web, listening to the same album looping over and over again, only stopping to go to bed when he got too bored or when the threat of his parents waking up and lecturing him to death got too great. He was a natural at staying up doing pointless shit.

Of course, here, he had very little pointless shit to do aside from sitting around staring blankly into space scratching his ass, so within a few minutes, he was tired, bored and cranky, and resisting the urge to just rest his head on a tree-stump for five seconds and catch a little nap.

Luckily for Harun, throughout the night, nothing of interest happened. No surprise announcement, no crazed psychopath lusting for blood and/or supplies, no sudden slump into depression or madness, no surprise bear hungry for a Turkish desert to compliment his helping of Megan Nelson. The number of bullets in his sword-revolver (which was rapidly losing its novelty and badass status in Harun's eyes) remained the same as it was back in the mansion. Hell, none of his new companions even talked in their sleep.

Harun swore that one of them had a really irritating snore though.

And so, Harun just did stuff while waiting for the sun to rise, Danya's latest scheduled announcement of misery to start and his companions (most of which he'd never talked to much before) to stir. He listened to his music on his iPod (which had been safely lodged in the back pocket of Harun's jeans, where he'd forgotten it existed) until the battery began to get dangerously low. He took out one of those books he brought on every trip he went on in the hope of finally getting around to reading, but had never even opened the front cover up until then. It was alright, but not worth the long wait. And at one point, while particularly bored, edgy and fidgety, he went off to a blind-spot a short distance away from the group and "gratified" himself.

Yep, he'd needed that. Nice way to let off some steam.

By the time the sun came around, he had bags under his eyes, he was pining for his old life back in dull old Minnesota (he would kill, or at least cause mild bodily harm, for his shoddy old computer and a nice shower) and he had spent the last hour mentally debating the possibility of an afterlife. He felt worse than he'd ever felt in his entire life, and, if you wanted Harun's opinion, that was saying something. Yet, he was still alive, he was not gravely wounded, and he had not yet seen someone brutally murdered in front of his own eyes, so he was probably part of a very lucky minority.

Not that the fact he was relatively well-off made him feel any better.

Too tired and too depressed to pay much attention to the announcements as they played, he decided he'd ask Rashid for any key details later. Talking of Rashid, he was already up on his feet. Swinging his cumbersome bag onto his back, Harun walked past Rashid and began to leave the campsite. "Right, guys, I need to stretch my legs and there's no point in staying here. Let's get going, guys." With Rashid in tow, Harun left the clearing.

((*puts on his Rosie-Mask*))

While everyone slept, Erik thought.

Why did he do it? Why did he let Brendan go?

It seemed so long ago now. He mumbled. Erik sat there. They kissed, and he left. Limping. Hurt. He couldn't hide it that well, Erik knew fully well how much pain he was in. But...why didn't he go after him?

When your boyfriend is trapped on a deserted island with you and...Erik shook his head and tried not to think up that ridiculous number. However many classmates it was, you need to have some sort of last thoughts, some last little bits of information, just something you need to get off your chest. There was so much stuff he had to say, yet he couldn't say it cause no one to say it to was here.

Chloe, Brendan...Robert...

These feelings surrounding him just sort of teetered out. Chloe...where was she? He never saw her at the buses, did she miss out on the trip? Sick? She wasn't on the announcements at all, there was still a small group of people who he had no idea what had even happened to them. If it wasn't for finally running into Brendan, then that periphery would be even smaller.

But these people...they weren't the people he was looking for.

As he sat there, watching the diverse group of his classmates sleep throughout the night, Erik bit his lip. They weren't Brendan. They knew him, he knew them, but they weren't him.

He had to look for him. Even running into Robert now would be a much better alternative to doing nothing.

His long, awkwardly-shaped hands fumbled around, just wishing he knew what the right thing to do was.

This was answered for him quite quickly.

Their guard, whoever he was, got up and left. After a few minutes, when he didn't come back, Erik knew this was the least awkward chance he would get.

Pulling himself onto the nearest stump, he took his bag with him and slung it around his shoulder, dangling awkwardly in the night like a mysterious trap, goading some unlucky bug to death.

Find him. Find anyone.

Erik strode off quickly towards where he guessed Brendan was headed. No idea. But it was better than sitting around feeling absolutely worthless.

((Erik Laurin continued in The Lost Boys))

And all the while, Sarah Tan watched through foggy eyes, winced slightly, then closed them once more.

*

"Right, guys, I need to stretch my legs and there's no point in staying here. Let's get going, guys."

Daylight. They were all well awake by then, and Sarah was sorting through her bags. All the medical supplies she grabbed were accounted for, the few days they spent camped there were vicariously short of thieves or anyone desperate. Not that she'd turn away a desperate person, no, if they asked she could provide them with ample supplies.

Check, check, and check! Everything we need is in here! If Brendan comes back, we can get his leg fixed up again, the stitches probably haven't held...No! Don't think like that! He's smart, he'll know what to do, won't he?

"We've got everything we need here! Let's go! We can find a place to set up shop and maybe get a clinic together!" Sarah bubbled out, still pretty groggy from too much sleep and not enough energy intake. She'd taken and devoured a whole loaf of bread while she searched, blissfully ignoring the possible nutritional ramifications.

The petite girl slide her arm under the strap, and tugged the bag somewhat off the ground, balancing awkwardly in a somewhat comical position. This didn't last long, as she quickly started bounding off after the two boys who were now leading the group.
