Hiding

An old and tiny house. If not for the many cobwebs, and the slightly bloodstained floor, the house would look rather out of place. This is the perfect place for the folk that would much rather hide under a table than partake in such a terrible game.

Hawley kept his grin, lightly nodding his head. “Alright.” He knew it was probably mean of him to have laughed, so as he watched the Adam curled into him himself he sighed himself and moved into a upright position off his daypack, pulling it out before him.

Undoing the zipper he took out one of the pieces of bread there… looking it over before taking a small bit of it. Quickly regretting it as he did, the stale taste wasn’t the best in the world. But it was this, or the crackers and he already knew how bad those where.

Shrugging his shoulders lightly in the thought he took another bite of it, and pushed back the taste trying to ignore it as he hadn’t anything since the beforementioned crackers yesterday, and anything felt good in his rumbling stomach at the moment.

As the boys rested in the building plotting their next move, a large black shape listened to them from the bushes near the house. Silent as a panther, it crept closer, baring impossibly white teeth as it approached. As it paused in the open, the SOTF cameras got their first good look at Marcus Roddy. He was shirtless and grinning, with a pack slung over one massive shoulder. A pheonix tattoo covered most of his back, and small notched scars marred his biceps on both arms. His hair was tightly cornrowed on the top of his head. He slowly crept to the front door of the run down shack, and, grinning sadistically, knocked on the door

There IS a way off this place. You will find it, and that's really all there is to it. You can get Hawley, River, and yourself out, and you'll figure something out. Nothing is impossible - you know that, you've proven it in the past, and you WILL succeed. Fuck Mr. Danya. Fuck him and his stupid game, because you'll beat the system. You will, just like you did before.

A loud knock at the door snapped Adam out of his silent reprieve. Hearing the loud knock, he exploded out of his corner, the shotgun in his hands almost as quickly as he was up. Quickly grabbing his bag in his other hand, he reached into it and extracted the baseball bat, tossing it to River. It wasn't as good as a shotgun or a pistol, but it would have to do for the time being. Pointing the shotgun at the door, he glanced at Hawley. Adam's eyes were red, not from crying but from the literal amount of emotion that had passed through his body all at once. It was almost like a hangover of sorts, an emotion hangover. Adam looked much more drained than he had before, and the stubble on his face only added to that illusion. He was all business at this point.

Hawley had been busy chewing thoughtfully on a small piece of stale bread, having replaced the rest in his daypack for a later day. Thoughts running over all these plans on trying to get off the island, be by water… or finding a way to get the collar off. Though each run through of the plan ended in death some way or another, but thoughts of escape where pushed back at the knocking against the door.

The redhead sitting up onto his good knee and pulling the pistol from his pocket, pushing himself up onto his feet he moved over toward one of the windows carefully peering out toward the door. Eyeing the person out there… well, he was quite big for lack of a better term. He had to at least have a foot on Hawley, and he was probably half of the other man’s weight.

Sighing he pushed himself against the wall beside the window, and out of view glancing off to Adam where he stood…

Adam shot Hawley a glance, and hissed under his breath, and hopefully out of whomever was outside's earshot "Who's out there?"

Bigfoot.

Now that's what Hawley was thinking, not what he said. Glancing back out... he blinked trying to place the guy with anyone he had seen at school. But found he couldn't, shaking his head he glanced back to Adam. "I don't know." He muttered in a light tone, pressing back to the wall. "But it's a big guy, like could snap me in two, big guy."

Adam couldn't help but blink in surprise at Hawley's description of the new arrival. Adam's mind went through the list of nearly everyone that he knew fitting that description, but no names really came up, or jumped out at him. He knew that there couldn't possibly be someone like that at their school, which only meant one thing: transfer students.

Not being able to help himself, Adam, with the shotgun still pointed at the door, leaned over and took a glance out the window. As his eyes sized up the new arrival, his jaw dropped. Hawley wasn't kidding, this guy was HUGE.

Holy FUCK, I sure hope he ain't playing.

Springing back to his previous position, he looked over at Hawley again.

"Holy SHIT! I didn't even know they MADE sixteen year olds that big!"

Hawley took another quick look out the window, peering at the large figure before leaning back into the wall at glancing off to Adam as he made his comment, grinning lightly. “So, what are we supposed to do? He knows we’re in here because we answered his knocking… looking at him we could probably knock down the door – of the wall.” He admitted weakly sighing some.

“We could push the table against the door, hope for the best. Threaten him with the fact we have guns… then again we don’t even no what kind of weapon he has.”

Marcus's grin faded a little as his knock did not induce any response from the interior of the house. He did hear the sturring within, but did not know whether the door would be answered or not. He decided to break it. His smile returned as he thought of breaking the door. He would run into it once, and it would shatter like glass. He started giggling at the thought, destruction always made him a little giddy.

He took about 5 solid steps back, and then turned and charged at the door, sending exploding shards of wood everywhere as his massive form broke most of the door off the hinges.

When he broke through, he took a seat indian style in the doorway, opening and closing his left hand rapidly, as if giving a toddlers greeting to the stunned pair.

Adam still held his shotgun pointed at the door as he looked at Hawley with a really dumbfounded expression on his face.

"You know...I...I really hope that he's friendly...because...yeah. Well...he's fuckin' HUGE! God, he could probably eat me, and still have room left in him for you."

That thought struck Adam a little funny.

"Hell, scratch that. I don't care if he is or isn't friendly...just as long as he isn't a cannibal."

Nervously, Adam checked his shotgun to make sure that it was fully loaded. He desperately hoped that he wouldn't have to use it.

The door exploding inwards was probably, in all honesty, the last thing that Adam expected to happen. Generally doors didn't explode. Unless there was something helping it along the way.

Oh, look at that. There IS somebody helping the door explode. What a nice guy.

Adam gaped as he brushed the splinters of wood from off of his clothing. The other boy was just sitting in the doorway, waving at them. Adam most definitely decided that at this point, lowering his shotgun was NOT an option. Talking, however, always was.

"Uh, hey there...nice, um...work with the door. Man, uh, what'd it ever do to you?" He chuckled weakly, hoping to indicate to the boy that he was friendly.

Marcus frowned, feeling small bruises beginning to sprout up on the shoulder that took the brunt of the impact. He continued to flex his hand, then he gave up. He made a gesture like he was writing something, then pointed at hawley, adam and him, in turn. He sat back and looked questioningly at Adam and Hawley, waiting for a response

It took a lot to startle Hawley – but when someone reduces a door to fire wood… well it going to surpise everyone to a certain degree. So when this event happened to befall them when the Yeti (or whatever term for "large creature" you prefer: Albino Baboon, Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch, Bigfoot, Ed Asner.) busted the door down, sat, and went about waving at them.

So Hawley at this point had to admit – he was shocked.

He moved from his place against the wall once the pieces of door stopped flying, he carefully moving and standing off to Adam’s side as he watched the other figure, pondering to what he would do next.

>>>this is after adams post<<<

He picked up the pen, and with his right hand, began writing.

My name is Marcus. I think my right wrist is broken. I took a fall off a cliff when the helicopter dropped me off. Apparently, the amount of gas they gave me was not enough to keep me unconscious, and they were forced to drop me early. I lost my supply pack, and my weapon pack was useless, so I have neither. I appreciate it if you guys could update me on danger zones and such. No need to write, because I can understand you perfectly. I just doubt you would understand me

Adam figured that the other boy, perhaps being mute or deaf, wasn't able to speak. Maybe that was it. Or maybe he was one of those crazies who thinks that if they open their mouth, beetles are going to pour out and start the fourth plague.

Who knew?

Regardless, Adam was certain that the large youth was asking for a pen and a paper, and luckily, that was a utility that he had at his disposal. Never taking his eyes off of the boy, he stepped backwards a few steps, and grabbed his bag off of the floor. Holding the shotgun in one hand, he grabbed a pen and put it in his mouth. He then extracted his notebook, which he had purchased for the intent of recording his trip on paper.

This was one trip that Adam never wanted to remember, EVER. That is, if he got out.

Tossing the book across the room, to the black man sitting on the floor, he then hefted the pen, which landed a few feet away from him. Adam then put both hands on the shotgun again.

"So...my guess is you can't talk...either that or you've got really horrible breath. In any case, there's a paper, well, a lot of it, so there you go. I'm Adam...this is Hawley, and this is River. We all go to Barry Coleson High School, and we're all seriously pissed the fuck off that our grad trip got turned from vacationing in Paris to having to blow each other away with guns. So...my question to you...well, I have several, but my first question...would be...who are you?"

Adam looked at the paper which was passed over to him, and then passed it to Hawley.
