Alison Bernheisel

#1

Post by Aster »

Name: Alison Kaye Bernheisel
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Grade: 12th
School: George Hunter High School
Hobbies and Interests: Politics, student council, speech and debate, Girl Scouts, track and field (sprint)

Appearance: Alison is remarkably tall for her age, standing at 5'10" and weighing 139 lbs. She is lean and fairly in shape thanks to her athletic lifestyle, which she takes some pride in. She has a fair, rosy complexion and curly, shoulder-length chestnut brown hair. Her face is rectangular, with a narrow nose and wide grayish-blue eyes. Alison takes great care of her teeth, and has prominent dimples when she smiles.

While Alison prefers to dress professionally when she can, she tends to dress down for her day-to-day activities, striking a balance between dressing for comfort and maintaining a formal appearance. Around school she tends to wear blouses and jeans, adding a cardigan in colder weather. Her wardrobe favors warmer colors, and she is especially fond of floral print. Alison likes to embellish with light scarves and headbands. She doesn't usually wear jewelry, save for a pair of pearl earrings. Her footwear alternates between sandals or loafers, depending on the weather.

On the day of the trip, Alison was wearing a short-sleeved white blouse with a red floral print scarf, paired with light denim jeans and white sandals. She was also wearing pearl earrings.

Biography: Alison Kaye Bernheisel was born on February 4th, 2000 to Isaiah and Sarah Bernheisel (nee Dawson). The pair hail from Ogden, Utah, where they lived for a few years after graduating from Weber State University. A few years after their daughter Jennifer was born, Isaiah took a lucrative position at a bank's Chattanooga office, and didn't hesitate to uproot his family and move halfway across the country. Alison was born two years after they arrived in Tennessee, and four years after that, the youngest Bernheisel (Brooke) was born.

The Bernheisel family enjoyed an upper class lifestyle, with Isaiah's salary as a banker supplemented by Sarah's experiences as a systems analyst. Sarah and Isaiah were loving but strict parents, who could get stubborn whenever their children stepped out of line. Most of their ire was directed at Jennifer, who was the most moody and rebellious of the three. Alison, on the other hand, was well-behaved, and quickly earned her parents' favor. Jennifer harbors some resentment towards her for this fact, although Alison doesn't reciprocate those feelings. Alison has tried to be a better older sister to Brooke, though her guiding efforts are usually met with ambivalence.

Isaiah and Sarah are devout Mormons, and aimed to instill the same values into their children. The family attends mass every Sunday, and are active in the religious community. Alison herself is deeply religious, finding comfort in her faith and being proud of her family's Mormon roots. She prays regularly and adheres to values like abstinence and dietary restrictions. While Alison does not vocalize her religious beliefs often nor looks down upon peers of other faiths, she tends to prefer associating with other Christians.

Sarah also made sure to teach Alison manners, in part because of a perceived failure to teach the same to Jennifer, who had been a loud and problematic child. Alison was always taught to treat authority figures with respect, and took mantras like 'If you don't have anything nice to  say, don't say anything at all' to heart. When she started kindergarten, Alison was polite and mild-mannered regardless of what she thought of others, keeping her thoughts about them to herself.

Alison has been a Girl Scout since first grade. Her main motivation was to join the same troop alongside her friends, although she soon learned to love the activities she participated in. The camping trips were a fun and exciting opportunity to get away from her usual responsibilities, and she learned to appreciate being in the outdoors. In addition, Alison liked the feeling of accomplishment earning badges and selling cookie gave her, which fed into her ambitious streak.

Alison was fairly popular in her elementary and middle school years, her charisma and cheerfulness attracting many of her peers. A small but close-knit friend group coalesced around her, and she quickly asserted herself as the group's ringleader. She fancied herself a natural leader, and enjoyed the respect that came with being in a position of power. This desire led her to her joining her middle school's student council and rising to positions of leadership within her Girl Scout troop.

Isaiah Bernheisel is politically active and deeply conservative, being a registered Republican and often talked with his wife about politics over dinner. While Alison had a passing interest in it when she was young, she only acted on this curiosity when she was in middle school. She started with asking her father questions about his ideologies and opinions of politicians, and then researched the topics on her own. Alison started accompanying her father to protests and rallies, and took an active part in them. The activities appealed to Alison's more principled and moral standpoint, although she was also fascinated by the inner workings of the government.

In 8th grade, Alison decided that she wanted to become the president. She was gaining familiarity with politics and government, and wanted to have a hand in its inner workings. Alison was also encouraged by her successes in other positions of leadership, and she sought to work hard to achieve her goals. This primarily manifested in an increase in studying as she entered high school, with a special focus on English and history. Her grades are spectacular, mostly earned through hard work.

Alison also began exploring extra-curricular activities that would help her out. She joined the speech and debate team to flex her public speaking and argument skills, and has found some success at higher-level competitions. Among her teammates, she is generally known to get particularly passionate and intense, but she is never over the top. In addition, Alison has been on the student council since freshman year, having a hand in organizing dances and spirit week activities. She is one of the more involved members of the council, and tends to assume leadership positions in their work. However, she is known for being somewhat stubborn, and tends to dominate group decision-making processes. Alison has clashed with her fellow council members from time to time, though she tries to keep it as civil as possible. In her senior year, Alison hopes to become student council president.

While Alison reached out to numerous clubs in her early high school years, surprisingly, track and field was one of the few that she stuck with as she progressed through high school. At first she tried out because she thought sports participation would make her well-rounded, and she figured that she had more stamina than strength used in some other sports. Once she tried out, Alison was discovered to be an adept sprinter, and has done well at meets and events. She's risen to the varsity team, and enjoys the company of her teammates, seeing it as a change in pace from the usual crowd she runs with.

Alison remains well-liked in high school for her polite and friendly demeanor. She runs with the popular crowd, and tends to gravitate towards other upper-class kids or her fellow student council members. However, she makes sure to be friendly to everyone, regardless of any personal grudges or opinions she holds. Alison is well aware that certain people dislike her due to her political beliefs, and she is generally okay with that - after all, if they don't talk to her, she doesn't have to pretend to be nice.

Politically, Alison identifies as a Republican. While she was initially much farther right due to influence from her parents, after doing some research and decision-making on her own, Alison has drifted closer to the center on certain issues, most notably issues regarding feminism and environmentalism. However, she is a staunch social conservative, much of her beliefs coming from religious roots (namely same-sex marriage and abortion). While she dislikes the negative image Republicans have in the present day, she tends to tolerate other right-leaning folks. She has also remained politically active throughout her high school career - she participated in the Senate page program the summer before her junior year, and she went out canvassing with her father for the Republican primaries, and volunteered for the Canon campaign the summer before her senior year.

Alison has a carefully crafted plan for her life in high school and beyond. She was accepted into Vanderbilt University, and hopes to obtain a degree in political science before moving onto law school.

Advantages: Alison's polite and friendly disposition may lend well to forming alliances. Her experiences in scouting have also given her above-average outdoorsmanship skills. She is also in decent physical strength, building up a generous amount of stamina through track and field.
Disadvantages: Her tendency to dominate conversations and decision-making in groups may alienate some of her allies. While Alison is agile, she lacks upper body strength.

In Hawaiian, Aloha means "Hello" and "Goodbye," the latter of which is appropriate considering how fast his V6 cast died
