Slime (No Talking)

Oneshot

The bay is where boats would have come in to dock when they arrived at the island. The first thing they would have seen is a large ‘Welcome’ sign painted in rainbow colours. There is a thin strip of seaweed-covered sand running the length of the bay that acts as as the ‘beach’ area, although it was rarely used when compared to the larger beach on the island.

Slime (No Talking)

((Tirzah Foss continued from Freedom is a fleeting dream, an ephemeral hope, a transient wish in the wind.))

Tirzah sat on the ground and listened to the waves roll in and out with her eyes closed. She adopted a cross-legged position, which made her seem somewhat zen to an outside observer.

It was very calming. Sometimes she could hear the cry of a sea gull and the sounds made their own sort of rhythm. Nice and calm. Tirzah picked up some sand and listened to it fall through her fingers back to the ground.

She felt something tickle the skin of her bare thigh and brushed it away, continuing to soak in the calm of the scene.

It would be a week and it would be done. Tirzah could return to her existence and she could continue to medicate with the preferred methods she had become accustomed to. It would take determination, making plans and sticking to them. Tirzah wasn't the kind of person that someone might describe as "disciplined" most of the time, but she could be in the service of returning to her undisciplined life.

She opened her eyes and saw a daddy long legs next to her knee. It had been swatted and was on its back, legs twitching and curling inward.

Her eyes fluttered and sought out the sound. She heard something not too far away.

Time to move again.
