What did I do last night?

A long, swinging bridge that crosses a deep ravine heading into the uninhabited part of the island. The bridge sways eerily in the wind and the fall into the ravine below almost certainly spells doom for anyone who happens to lose their balance or step too close to the edge.

What did I do last night?

Nick Jones awoke with the worst headache he could ever recall having. Seeing his bag, he briefly remembered that he was supposed to be on a trip with his class. He had one more bag though. It was then that he remembered where he was. He didn't even have to reach up to feel the collar that had been put on his neck. He knew it was there. Eventually he would give in and check to see what he had been supplied with, but first he needed to make sure that he wasn't going to be killed by a wandering homophobe or by any of the other kids that were obviously scared shitless. There wasn't much for cover near the bridge, but a few yards from where he awoke, there were some short bushes and a few decent sized trees. They looked like they would provide enough cover for him to have a quick look through his bag and hopefully find a nice big gun to point around.

He ducked low to the ground, using a bush to hide himself from view, and opened the pack that he'd been supplied with. The rations were sparse. The water looked fine, a map and compass were provided, so if he could figure those out he could get around the island without exploding at least. His weapon was a weird one. It was a black, metal...thing. He honestly had no clue what to do with it. He suspected it was used in some martial arts form, but other than that, he didn't know. He could probably hit somebody pretty hard with it. It sort of looked like a sai. He'd seen those in movies. If he had any training with it he might be able to use it to subdue somebody. Bad martial arts films gave him a few ideas for what he could do with it, but he had a feeling he would need to go searching for something a little more intimidating. He got some weird booklet written by Danya, the guy who was running the show apparently. He flipped through it and tucked it back into his bag. The saddest part about the whole thing was that he knew Danya was right. He couldn't trust anybody. The only people he'd even think of trusting were those who were in his circles, and even then he'd probably only trust somebody he knew was gay. He'd been attacked by classmates before. He had almost been killed by them, so he knew better than most that he would have to fight to survive.

He got up off the ground and took up his bags, making sure they were zipped. He held his strange weapon at his side and tried to figure out where he was, and if anybody else was around. Not seeing anybody, he decided to duck back down and check the map. The bridge lead to a part of the island where nobody had ever lived. That could be a good or bad thing. He might be less likely to run into trouble on that part of the island, but he also didn't trust the bridge. He'd probably do better searching for something a bit more usable as weapon than what he had. Something sharp or easier to hit somebody with than his issued weapon. Either way he was headed into the jungle. The island was covered with trees, and probably with animals as well. He might get killed by a snake before even seeing a classmate. Wouldn't that be lovely?

As he scanned the area for other players, he tried to decide which way to go, in case he needed to run. He'd do a lot better if he had a destination in mind than if he was wandering aimlessly. Especially since the jungle looked pretty thick. If he got lost, he would be even more fucked than he already was. Deciding on a destination, he made his way into the jungle, hoping he wouldn't run into any trouble.
