This Fire Burns

A basic three-room facility which once served the residents of the island. The waiting room is nothing to speak of, with only a few dust-covered chairs, an old lamp, and a stack of ancient magazines sitting on the table. The examination room is even blander, containing nothing except some expired medical supplies and an old examination table. The third room holds two rows of cots and was once used to quarantine sick patients.

((John continued from The Wind Below))

Things had certainly been interesting since John Rizzolo had left the sea cliffs. There he was, wandering down a random trail through the jungle when out of the bushes came three dudes in camo military gear all with high powered assault rifles trained at his head. The also weren't in the mood for comedy as John's attempt to get a laugh with a joke about them compensating for something with big guns only resulted in one of the gun's barrels pressed against the back of his skull.

He was then instructed to start walking. Apparently he'd won a prize for killing Cara, but Mr. Danya was under the weather and couldn't announce it to everyone, so Mr. Danya sent these three out to find John and bring him to where his prize was. The three stooges weren't to happy either as John apparently tough to track down in the jungle.

They finally reached the boundary of the hospital area and the biggest of the three spoke.

"Go in there, your prize will be on the reception desk. Take it, then vacate the area or your collar will blow. You have 15 minutes to do both"

John waved goodbye to the three men as he made his way to the entrance of the hospital. Even from the outside the smell of death and decay was strong. John pushed open the door and the smell grew.

"Damn, that is rank."

John's eyes immediately were drawn to the brown bag on the reception desk marked, "John Rizzolo". Walking over, John could feel the butterflies in his stomach. It was like walking downstairs on Christmas day. You knew you were going to get something you liked.

Taking a deep breath, John slowly unzipped the brown bag. What lay inside the bag brought a twisted smile to JR's face. There inside the bag lay a beautiful Type 67 Silenced Pistol, along with 4 spare clips of ammunition.

"You're....beautiful." John said as he took the gun from the bag. Inspecting it, he found that a clip of ammo had already been loaded. It was perfect in every way. The weight wasn't overbearing. It was fairly compact so it could be easily concealed if need be. John then packed the spare clips of ammo into his own bag.

As John stood there admiring his new gun, he noticed his bag was getting heavier, what with the extra supplies from Emma's bag he'd taken, along with the ammo he'd just taken was getting to be a bit of discomfort. John removed the morning star as it was the heaviest thing in his bag.

"My friend, you did your job, and you did it well. However, I must retire you from Team J.R. God speed."

John placed the morning star underneath the reception desk.

Just in case I ever need you again.

JR then made his way back into the jungle, his newest friend safely in his right hand.
