Ethan Ashlock

#1

Post by Megami† »

Name: Ethan Ashlock
Gender: Male
Age: Eighteen [18]
Grade: Senior [12th]
School: Southridge High School
Hobbies and Interests: Poetry, writing, Art Club

Appearance: Ethan's an average looking guy, with brownish-blonde hair that is either worn flat or spiked up depending on his mood. His eyebrows match his hair color and don't particularly stand out, although Ethan keeps them groomed enough that he doesn't look scruffy. His eyes are dark blue in color, and he wears contacts. Every great once in a while, he'll opt to put on his glasses, but its very rare. His mom tells him that the glasses make him look like an intellectual. Ethan thinks that he just looks nerdy. Ethan's nose is narrow and seems to be an almost perfect fit with the rest of his facial structure. He stays clean-shaven, mostly because he's never had much success with growing any sort of facial hair. He's doomed to eternally have a babyface. Although he's embarrassed by it, Ethan had braces so recently that he still has to wear his retainer. His face is well-defined and mature, and it makes him look a bit older than he really is. He has a light scar right above his eyebrow from an accident he had as a child, although it's barely noticeable now. In terms of height and weight, he's pretty average for an eighteen year old boy. He stands at 6'0", making him about average. He's about 180, so he has a little meat on his bones, but in a healthy way. As far as clothing goes, Ethan doesn't wear things that make him really stand out. He likes jeans and khaki pants, and usually opts for plain t-shirts or, on occassion, polos. He always has on tennis shoes, you'll never catch him in sandals or anything else of the sort.

Biography: A native of Highland Beach, California, this is the town in which Ethan was born and raised. He was the first-born and, sadly, the only child of Gavin and Cadence Ashlock. Ethan was what one would call a "miracle baby". His parents were blessed with him three years after Cadence was told she would never be able to have children. From the moment of his conception onward, Cadence cherished Ethan more than anything else in the entire world, a trait that she still retains in present day. His father is also very caring and compassionate toward his son, although he has trouble showing physical affection toward him. Ethan was born into an upper middle-class family. Gavin Ashlock is a district judge, so his income alone is rather substantial, and Cadence Ashlock is simply a housewife. Ethan lived a pretty average childhood. He was an only child, so was a bit of a loner by nature. He wasn't used to having other children to play with, and even when he entered school, he preferred to be by himself. He wasn't an unsociable young man by any means, he simply wasn't outgoing.

All throughout his childhood, Ethan loved to doodle. He loved to draw, he loved to write, and he loved to create. He had an artistic flare within him that rivaled many of the other top artists in the school, and it's a quality that he's retained into his high school years. In fact, Ethan is such an avid young artist that he hopes to eventually attend a prestigious college with heavy emphasis on the arts. His father doesn't think it's such a good idea, and always tries to talk his son out of venturing down the "starving artist" road. In fact, Gavin would rather his son follow in his footsteps and become a lawyer or enter another wing of the criminal justice field. Ethan, however, has little interest in the things that his father does.

Ethan is a quiet and timid person by nature. He rarely speaks, and when he does, he sometimes has trouble initiating conversations, especially with strangers. He's the sort of person who can sit in a room with someone in complete silence and never utter a word. Most of the time, it isn't that he doesn't want to talk to the people that he's around, but he's not sure of what to say. It's even worse when it comes to the opposite sex. Ethan isn't a bad looking young man by any means, but he's very shy around women, and he's always afraid that he'll say something stupid. However, when it comes to poetry and writing, Ethan is very articulate and can formulate beautiful poems on a whim. He carries around a little brown book with him at all times that contains his artwork, his poetry, and his general musings. He rarely lets other people see his artwork, but most people praise him when he allows them to view it.

Because of his "backwater" personality, Ethan doesn't have a whole lot of friends. He likes to keep to himself, making him somewhat of an enigma around the school. Everyone who knows Ethan doesn't really know much about him. Ethan doesn't even reveal simple things like the kind of music he likes or what his favorite food is. He finds information like that irrelevant overall, and he figures that if anyone cared enough, they'd simply ask him. He doesn't volunteer information unless people ask for it, so he leaves a lot about himself open to interpretation.

Overall, Ethan's just an average guy. He has a border collie named Apollo who is his best friend. He leads a relatively active lifestyle, mostly because he and Apollo go on a run around the neighborhood every evening. He has a good relationship with his parents, although he could best be described as a bit of a momma's boy. He's fascinated with the arts and hopes to one day have his artwork published on a professional level. Still, he's his own harshest critic, and because of that, much of his art never gets viewed by anyone other than its creator. Overall, Ethan's a good guy, and he's a nice person once you get to know him. Because of his detached personality, he's hard to associate with, and many people don't take the time to mess with him. Ethan's fine with that. He enjoys the company of people to an extent, but he likes his alone time as well. He's a very creative person, and the slightest things can trigger a new poem or a set of song lyrics for him.

Advantages: He's a very creative person when it comes to artwork, song lyrics, and just about anything else concerning the arts. This skill could wind up being beneficial in some way, like if he needed to patch up a wound or come up with a device to let him know other people were in the area. He's crept along in the background of Southridge High School, so there won't be too many people out for his blood from the get-go.

Disadvantages: Ethan's inability to socialize with other people could hinder him greatly throughout the game. He doesn't talk much, which could make other people nervous from the beginning, and he's almost completely silent around members of the opposite sex for fear of saying something stupid. His overcritical personality might make others uncomfortable, as he tends to sit back and analyze people and their actions rather than speak.
