Life, Liberty, and Death

The ends of Boys #69 and #88

While not especially large, containing roughly five stories, this hotel once served as a temporary residence for island tourists. Perhaps the hotel could serve as a safe haven for you as well? Don't let your guard down here, however, you never know who's watching you from the shadows.

The rain of the billowing storm beat down on the heaving form of a young blonde as she panted against the brick of the building she had found. She was unsure where the hell she was, but knew that she had no choice but to rest, she'd been running for almost half a day. She slowly stood up, still sucking in breaths rapidly. Her tomahawk was clutched tightly in her hand as she sluggishly began to look for the entrance to the building. The building held a familiar air to it as she paced the perimeter and scoured for the door. It was a bit eerie, this place, almost as if it were part of a bad memory.

She slowly pushed the door open, listening quietly as she opened the door, awaiting the sound of scurrying footsteps, or slamming doors. When her eyes finally adjusted to the new surroundings she gasped. Her eyes opened wide when she realized where she was. Fate had returned her to the Hotel.  She slowly made her way inside, her wet shoes sloshing on the clean floors. She walked around for a bit before seeing her own Blood note, still there, telling her friends where she and Tori were hiding. She passed the note, but not before looking at the door that led to the rotting corpse of Nich Finlayson, who had attempted to rape her.

Enough was enough as far as she was concerned. All she had to do was retrieve her weapon from the bastard terrorists, then go hunting for a Miss Stephanie Crew. Lavvy would be avenged, even if it cost her own life in the process. Mariavel silently walked across the lobby, passing two rotting corpses along the way, but they really didn't faze her. She found a room and opened the door, hoping ton rest for an hour or two. She closed the door quietly behind her, and flopped down on the bed, slowly dampening the sheets as the water dripped from her body.

The one thing she hated to think about, was all the kids who had died here, two of whom by her own hand. Was it worth it? What would winning bring her exactly? She would become even more a shell of herself than she was already. Could she survive if she'd won? That was a question she couldn't answer right now. As a murderer.... She'd become a known murderer. The fact was, she may have killed someone before all this, but that was her test to see if she could join the fists, she had no choice. She just felt like dieing. But there was no time to die. Lavender, and even Tori, they were counting on her survival. She could die later. Once she became pure again.

Mariavel was suddenly startled out of her misery by a sound outside, like someone puking. There was another hurling noise and she got up to take a look, Tomahawk in hand, Tanto in her pocket at the ready. She opened to door, and stepped out silently, being sure to stay light on her feet, so her shoes wouldn't squeak. She stepped out into the lobby and saw who was making the noise. A boy (or man, she couldn't tell, he looked a lot older than her) was standing hunched over a trashcan, puking his guts up. She looked a bit closer and saw in the boy's right hand some sort of handgun. If she could get that, she'd be set. It was all a matter of getting it though. She didn't feel for this boy, who was in all reality dehydrated, as he'd drunken all his water on the first day, but there was no way for Mari to know that. She took a step forward towards the boy, and the instant her foot hit the ground the boy's body shot up and he turned towards her, gun pointed at her chest. She began to sweat, but the boy didn't look to fast... perhaps she could dodge the shot.

"Get you back woman!" The boy screamed at the top of his lungs, some bile dribbling down the side of his mouth. Mariavel cringed slightly and widened her base, ready to dodge if her shot.

"Make me fucker." She said with a fallen angel's smile donning her serene face. Even in a crucial moment such as this, she was still in control. That feeling forced her to smile. The boy of course, didn't share her sentiment. He screamed and shot the gun at her. Mariavel quickly dodged to the right, but her left shoulder was nicked by the speeding bullet, causing a small gash and a stream of blood to flow from the wound. Plus it fucking hurt!

"You Bastard! You'll regret that!" She yelled and quickly got to her feet. There was a small hallway lined with rooms to her side, if she could distract him long enough, she could no doubt overpower him with sheer speed and blunt force if necessary. She was forced to run from her position into said hall as he fired another two rounds at her, the first missing completely, but the second skimming her left side. She cried out in pain and was forced to lean of the hallway's wall to move. It really stung. She opened a door quickly and ran inside, closing it behind her. She looked around for anything that could be useful and found exactly the kind of thing she was looking for. She smiled a bit at her brilliance.

The boy charged through the door, expecting to find the girl cowering, ready to be shot. Instead he felt the impact of a ten pound lamp crashing into the cranium of his skull, sending him crashing to the ground, pistol flying from his hands. Mariavel stood triumphantly over the writhing form of the boy. She quickly limped to the dropped pistol, grabbing it and pointing the gun to the male. She could see from his body structure that he was no boy, so what was he doing here? Was he a terrorist? Perhaps. She'd kill him here anyway.

"Bye bye, Hun" Those were the last words Alex Ovechkin, aka boy #88, would hear as Mariavel let a bullet fly from the gun's barrel, hitting the man in the head, spraying his brain and cranium fluids onto the floor behind him. Mariavel frowned slightly, but felt no remorse for killing him. She was pleased though. The recoil of the pistol was nowhere near as bad as she'd thought it would be. Silently she shouldered her daypack, stowed the tomahawk into the back of her jeans, and left the room, pistol in hand.

When she found herself back at the scene of her and tori's escape, she decided to grab a bottle of water from her daypack. She'd ripped the boy's from the ground in the lobby as well, so she'd have to transfer over the ammo and essentials. She let both bags hit the ground and unzipped them. She loaded all the boy's food into the bag first, then the ammo. She grabbed a water bottle and chugged about half of it. She sure was thirsty. She even managed to gulp down some of the cardboard food. She sighed as she put the bottle back, and stopped suddenly as she was zipping the bag back up. She turned sharply and fired, hitting her oncoming attacker in the chest, knocking him to the ground. He had seen her kill the other boy, so had decided to wait until she let her guard down to strike. With only a stiletto, it was foolish. She walked to a few feet in front of him and let loose a barrage of bullets from the chamber of the pistol, effectively emptying the clip. The boy, Rupert Stockton, aka boy #69, looked like cheddar cheese with all those bullet holes in him. She smiled a bit and grabbed the stiletto from his hand, throwing it in the bag and then putting a new clip into the Luger Carbine 7.65. Now, it was time to claim her prize. Then she'd have no choice but to win it all.
