Don't Tell And We Won't Ask

Fiametta Household: 2:07 AM

Events and happenings began influencing who our characters are long before the SOTF ACT was even a glimmer in someone's eye. Have an interesting memory of your character's to share? Want to show the world why they are the way they are? Even if you just want to establish why they like comic books, this is the place to do it!

Shit.

Ilario had gone to bed at his usual time - a quarter past ten - having completed his homework and studying for Saturday. He parceled out his weekend work carefully, making sure to do parts of it on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday to ensure that it stayed fresh for the next school week. His father praised him for it, never failing to make a pointed comment about his two siblings and their own study habits, which in the case of Frankie were nonexistent (she had been out the whole day and had called late in the evening to leave a casual message stating she wouldn't be home until Sunday night, causing no small amount of tension) and in the case of Rosa typically involved studying the mating habits of teenagers.

Not that the Fiametta particularly minded being left on his own during the weekends, since it made it easier to study, but there was always the nagging worry in the back of his mind that his sisters wouldn't be able to make it, and he'd be left to try and support them.

Speaking of sisters...

2:12 AM

The glowing red numerals of his beside clock changed silently, reminding him of the sister who was currently missing in action. When he'd gone to bed Rosa had still not been in, despite her idle promises earlier in the day to be back by eight, and when he'd woken at 1:45 to use the washroom he'd noticed her light still on in her bedroom. Entering quietly with the intent of flicking it off - it wouldn't be the first time she'd fallen asleep (passed out, his mind pointed out to him in a snide voice) with the light on - he'd been surprised to find the bed still unslept in.

And so here he was, lying on his side in bed, wide awake with anxiety twisting his stomach into knots. Sure, she could have just forgotten to call to tell them she'd be staying with someone, but at the same time she could be hurt, or in trouble, or passed out by the side of the road somewhere.

2:15 AM

And he couldn't go back to sleep.

2:16 AM

Shit.

((Rosa Fiametta continued from Coulda Been A Contender))

Now that... was what you called a wild night. It had been a while since Rosa had been out to what you'd call a proper party, especially in a house, and it had been absolutely awesome. She'd been out for like... shit, half of the day, and had been drinking steadily since about one in the afternoon. Rosa had collapsed about seven in a drunken haze and must have slept for a couple of hours. (Or at least, she thought she'd slept, either that or she had a gap somewhere in her memory, wouldn't be the first time).

Once that was over, things had progressed from drinking to get a little more physical. Rosa had (at least that she remembered), made out with four different people, given a guy head in a bathroom; although that had ended messily, which Rosa hated when it happened. (she'd cleaned off her face, but her hair still felt a little sticky). And, just before the panicking host had told everyone his parents were on their way home, Rosa had managed to get some girl's top off. That had pissed her off too... she loved boobs... but ah well. Even though things had been cut off prematurely and there had been a couple of downers, that came with every night out. In the grand scheme of things, she'd had a damn fine time.

As she stumbled up to the front door of the Fiametta residence, Rosa had no idea what time it was, and wouldn't have particularly cared even if she had known. She was a bit too drunk to have that sort of judgement. Anyway... two wasn't that late, right? Rosa had had nights where she hadn't made it in until it, well, wasn't the night any more, and others still that it had been the afternoon after the night out she'd come home. Junior was used to it. Rosa couldn't remember the last time he'd got on her case about it. Her step mother? Eh... she tried, but always seemed distinctly wary of Rosa, but that suited her just fine.

Rosa managed to get the door open, took a step forward, and promptly tripped over the welcome mat with a thud, albeit not a particularly loud one. Rosa let out a little giggle that was considerably more noisy and managed to navigate her way to her feet. Now, her room, it was... that... right? No... was it... left? Wait, which one was left anyway?

The 'eldest' Fiametta stood there for a moment, trying to get her bearings in the near-darkness.

Eeeehhh. All else fails, there's always the couch?

thud.

Ilario started upright, heart suddenly beating faster. He'd managed to make it into a sort of waking doze, conscious of the slow passing of time but not a whole lot else when the noise had startled him. As he held his breath, listening for another sound, a giggle floated up to him.

Oh, Rosa...

Snagging the expensive housecoat hanging on the back of his door, the slender boy made his way out of his room, padding down stairs to the entrance hall. Pausing for a moment at the foot of the steps to let his eyes adjust, his gaze landed squarely on a disheveled if extremely familiar figure, who appeared somewhat the worse for wear. Grimacing slightly and trusting the darkness to hide it, Ilario moved towards his sister, arms folded over his chest and nose wrinkled as he took in the smell of alcohol that was clinging to her.

"Rosalia Fiametta, do you have any idea what time it is?"

Whispering hoarsely, he tried to inject the proper amount of frustration into his voice, quashing any and all relief that at least she was home safely and not roofied to high heaven in some pervert's basement.

The sound of her brother's voice snapped Rosa from her alcohol induced reverie. For some reason, it struck her as amusing that he was being so quiet, and she had to stifle another giggle. Still, the tone was even funnier, he was like some schoolmaster. That thought did actually cause another little bit of laughter to break free.

"Sorry Junior, but I seem to have misplaced my watch," at the most generous, you could say that Rosa's volume was a stage whisper, and that was pushing it. Good thing it was such a big house, because the noise she was making was definitely carrying, Still, it was quite a distance to their parents' room, so she didn't pose too much of a risk of waking them up... not yet, anyway.

After a second or so, it struck Rosa that she didn't even know how Ily and Frankie referred to their father. Well, maybe not that she didn't know so much as was too drunk to remember. She was sure though, that she was the only one that called Ilario Fiametta Jr, well, Junior. The alcohol in Rosa's system made her think elaboration on the joke was necessary.

"See because you sound like Dad when you say things like that, get it?" Rosa couldn't see much of Ily in the darkness, but she nevertheless kept a close a watch on his face as she got.

C'mon... that's gotta get at least a smile.

Rosa's tone made Ilario flinch, instinctively glancing up the stairs in the general direction of his father and stepmother's room. Although he knew the size of the house meant that hearing Rosa from their bedroom would be almost impossible, he still had the creeping and guilty sensation of doing something wrong by being up at this time. Not to mention that Rosa was going to have to get wrestled up to bed at some point and no matter how tolerant his father had become of Rosa's - escapades - he was fairly sure he'd have something to say about her current condition. And it wasn't his fault, sure, he couldn't control his siblings, but that didn't mean he didn't feel guilty about it.

His face twitched briefly when she called him Junior, but he managed to keep the scowl on his lips until Rosa cheerfully and drunkenly explained the joke. It broke then, and he smiled faintly and crookedly, stepping forwards to take her arm with his other hand coming up to lightly tug on a lock of her hair.

"Yeah. I know. C'mon, you need to go to-"

He broke off suddenly, stilling and glancing down at his hand. Oh please oh please let that just be beer or something...

"Rosa..."

All of a sudden, Ily's face turned a little... well, shocked. Disgusted, grim. All of those. Well, not at the same time, it sort of flitted through each expression. His face stuck with the last to match his tone as he said her name. Again, Rosa couldn't help but being reminded of her father, something which in honesty she rather disliked. Junior barely ever paid her attention when she was younger except for when she was in trouble, and he had always used exactly the same tone as Ily was now.

Not the best thing to be reminded of whilst in conversation (or at least what passed for one) with one of the two people you were closest to in the whole world.

"Illly..." Rosa near-whined. "Don't do that. You're not allowed to tell me off. I'm eldest, remember?"

It was petty, but then, it was just plain Rosa to bring up the fact she'd been born first as much as she could. In fairness, she was at most a couple of minutes 'older' than Ilario, but that didn't stop her from bringing it out whenever she could... except when ignoring it suited her better. Wasn't it the eldest that was supposed to cover for and look after the younger ones? ... Not much of that came from Rosa's direction, that was for sure. Besides, it wasn't like Rosa and Frankie listened to their brother anyway, making that whole thing fairly moot.

Besides being a little annoyed that Ily was putting on the 'lecturing' tone, Rosa was honestly baffled as to what he could be annoyed about. The 'mess' that had been made wasn't on her mind at that moment, as, well, thinking about the guy you gave a blowjob to was a little strange of a thing to be doing whilst talking with your brother.

"Anyway, what is it? I step on your toes or something?"

What's his game anyway? Came over all weird all of a sudden. But then.. eh, Ily is Ily, and Ily is weird.

Ilario rolled his eyes skyward as he carefully sniffed his fingers, grimacing. Yeah, that wasn't beer. And Rosa appeared clueless at the moment, which was...great. Just great. The funny was, though, as much as he felt like lecturing her he couldn't help but feel a small surge of pity of his sister. God, what kind of life was she leading?

And in the end, he was her brother, and since neither she or Frankie seemed to look after the family it fell down to him, didn't it? So he just wiped his fingers on his pajama pants (now he had to remember to put them in the wash) and took her arm again, tugging her towards the bathroom that was just off the main hall.

It wasn't more then a few steps, and as they entered he flicked on the light, blinking at the sudden brightness before grasping Rosa's shoulders and positioning her so that she was staring at the mirror. "Rosa," he said, and suddenly the sheer absurdity of the situation hit him.

Trying not to choke on slightly hysterical laughter, he clung to his composure as he pointed at the reflection of her hair and the...contents within.

"Rosa, why the - why the hell do you have semen in your hair?"

In lieu of a verbal reply, Ily just wound up grabbing hold of her and tugging her towards... somewhere. Rosa wasn't really sure, it was dark, and the beer had thrown her sense of direction off. Even as Ily took hold of her she stumbled, her feet not finding their balance properly. In the state that she was in, it was amazing she'd been able to make it home, even if she had managed to get a lift to a couple of blocks away from the Fiametta residence.

Rosa still wasn't sure what the heck Ily was playing at though. He'd got annoyed at... what exactly? Something that required moving out of the porch, evidently. As the bathroom light came on Rosa winced and let out a little moan. It seemed so bright, certainly through the haze brought about by all that she'd been drinking. Still, after a moment, she adjusted, and even though she had to squint for a few seconds, the brightness ebbed a bit until she could concentrate on what Ily was doing.

The elder Fiammeta blinked a couple of times at being put straight in front of her reflection. Rosa still didn't understand what Ily was getting so fussed about until he actually pointed it out. Oh right... the hair. Ugh, that fucking lightweight, no stamina at all. Couldn't handle a mouth on his dick for more than ten seconds without shooting off. Probably a fucking virgin or something...

Stiiill, it was a bit over the top of Ily to get so annoyed about the deal. It wasn't like she had it everywhere, and really, that patch of her hair just looked a bit wet... most people would probably take it for wa- ... okay they wouldn't. It was pretty obviously jizz, but whatever. Not exactly feeling like explaining the specifics of what had happened, Rosa instead just opted to deflect the demand/chastisement.

"If you think that's bad you should have seen it before, it was all over my face... not my idea of fun."

Ilario openly groaned at Rosa's statement, turning away from her to grab a washcloth from the wrought-metal rack on the wall. "I suppose I should be glad that was all you were doing." A familiar anxiety for him was that Rosa would go a little too far and end up pregnant, something that unfortunately didn't seem too out of the question.

Running the washcloth under the hot water tap and adding a little bit of the floral soap from the decorative glass soap dispenser, he approached her with cloth in hand, intent on getting the mess out of her hair.

"C'mon. I'm not letting you go to sleep with - with that in your hair, it'll get all over." Despite the words, his tone was fond...no matter what, he cared for his two siblings, no matter how faintly disgusted he was that Rosa stooped herself to that level. When she was sober again he'd probably try to talk with her (not that it ever succeeded) since that was what he always did, but for now, he would humor her.

"Eh... came closer to scoring with a girl tonight than a guy..."

Even Rosa wasn't free enough about her sex life to discuss what she'd been up to in detail with her brother, but she'd been very open to most people (except, surprise, surprise, Junior) about her bisexuality. Hell, even if Rosa had tried to keep it secret, it wouldn't have remained so for long. People gossiped, and seeing somebody like her with her... attentions on another girl got around fast. It didn't really bother Rosa. So she liked girls as well as guys, what was so bad about that?

"You ought to let your hair down once in a while Ily," Rosa told her brother, even though she knew it was unlikely he would hear any of it. He was always so serious about everything... never seemed to relax. "Find yourself a nice girl... or guy if that's what takes your fancy. Just... well, enjoy yourself for once," maybe Ily disapproved of her lifestyle, but in her own way, Rosa wasn't too fond of her brother's. All work and no play made Jack a dull boy, and well, Rosa hated the thought of having a dull brother. Junior might have been trying to set up another version of himself, but that didn't mean Ily had to follow the mold.

"Oh leave it alone Ily... I can clean myself up," Rosa, drunk or no, wasn't a child. She could take care of herself (never mind her own inept attempts at cleaning were what had left her in this situation in the first place). "It's not like anybody is going to see it anyway," well, not unless it showed up in that picture somebody had snapped of Rosa and that girl kissing half naked. Somebody had burst into the room with a camera phone, completely ruined the mood and made it took a while to get back into things after Rosa chucked the guy out. Open about sex she may have been, but hell if she was an exhibitionist. Still... if that hadn't happened, things might have been a little awkward for Rosa when the party was abruptly broken up. Small blessings, she supposed.

Although... maybe I should look into getting hold of that picture... bet it's pretty damn hot...

Ilario leaned against the wall, washcloth in hand, arms folded across his chest as he listened to his sister. She never got particularly detailed with him (which was just fine with him, thanks) but he knew bits and pieces of her life, not the smallest of which was her particular sexual preferences. He didn't particularly mind, the only thing that got his hackles up the fact that their father didn't know - but for that, he didn't blame her.

As she told him to 'let his hair down', he snorted softly, shaking his head at her. "I let my hair down," (not), "when I'm not busy. There's more to life then parties. And dating's not really my thing." Not that he'd ever really given it a fair chance, but he pretty much knew it wouldn't be a good thing. One more stress to add onto all the others, not to mention a huge distraction from school.

Tossing the washcloth lightly in Rosa's direction (not particularly expecting her catch it, either) Ilario refolded his arms, a crooked smile twisting his lips. "The fact that it's in your hair suggests otherwise, but go ahead, prove me wrong." The smile fading into a slightly disgusted look, he eyed her sideways. "And - yeah, no one will see it, but it'll be in your hair all night, and all over your pillow and that's just disgusting."

Personal hygiene, Rosa, honestly.

Resting his head against the cool tile of the wall, he let the unimpressed look slide off his face, replaced with a faintly pensive expression. "And - listen, Rosa, I'd kind of...I'd really appreciate it if you could call next time." Not that he thought she was going to listen - he'd had variations on this conversation with her before (and sometimes it felt like that was all this family did, have conversations that were never heard or completely disregarded, everyone doing their own thing except for him because he did what his father asked of him and what he had to do) - but it was always worth one more shot.

"I," dropping his eyes to the ground, "worry, sometimes."

"Yeah, yeah Ily, and when are you never not busy anyway? There's more to life than partying," (like sex!) "But there's more to life than schoolwork too," maybe it was a little cruel of Rosa to criticise her brother, but in honesty... when did he ever go out to even a club? Everything about him just seemed to be geared around school, school, school, work, work, work, anything that could set him on his way towards growing up as the perfect little businessman.

Not that there was anything wrong with being a businessman, but jeez, you had to live a little, and Ilario never seemed to do any of that. Rosa found it faintly amusing that each of them were worried about the other... and for reasons that were almost completely opposite.

Unready for Ily to toss the cloth at her, Rosa fumbled it, dropped it onto the floor, bent over to retrieve it, then wound up coming over all woozy. She sat down, hard, and stayed on the bathroom floor for a moment to get her bearings before picking the cloth up again and carefully negotiating her way to her feet

Rosa felt like remarking once again that if Ily thought that her current state was messy, he would have had to see some of the states she'd gone to bed in, but thought better of it. Ily heard enough of Rosa's exploits that she somewhat doubted he'd like to learn more of her post-sex stories. Rosa never got into the really crazy stuff so far as sleeping with people went (not that she hadn't been proposistioned a few times), but 'cleaning up'... well, that never ranked too highly on her priorities.

She rolled her eyes as Ily chastised her about not calling and started to start cleaning out her hair. Could he not get off her back tonight? Well, this morning, she supposed.

"Christ Ily... it was a night out, that was all. I'm not stupid. I'm not going to jump into some guy's car if he offers me candy, and I know how to handle myself about parties. Fuck, if you're so concerned, what about Frankie? I'm not the one trying to fry my brains every ten minutes."

Classic Rosa. When in trouble, shunt it off on her sister. Sure, Rosa loved Frankie, but she wasn't above using her sister to make things a little easier for herself. In this case? It was a distraction.

Ilario rolled his eyes in response to Rosa's criticism, shaking his head. Although he wouldn't say it out loud to her, there was no way he was going to listen to any advice she had regarding his life. At least I'm working towards something, Rosalia, not just fucking my way through the school.

The heat from his internal voice surprised him, and he tried to shake it off uncomfortably. It was the late night, he was cranky, annoyed, it didn't mean anything.

Luckily at that moment he was distracted by Rosa going down hard. He snorted a laugh in spite of himself, staying where he was, propped against the wall, until she pried herself off the floor and started cleaning the...stuff...out of her hair.

As she bitched him out for being worried - I'm your brother, Rosa, of course I worry, good god, when you're piss drunk and some asshole picks you up you're not going to be able to take care of yourself and I'm not dealing with that mess - a frown settled on his face once more, and he shifted over, sitting on the lid of the toilet with his legs spread and his chin propped in his palms.

"This isn't about Frankie and you know it." Not that it really mattered to Rosa, and she did have a point, but Ilario had dished out his fair share of lectures to Frankie when she'd come home reeking of pot and high as a kite.

Sometimes he wondered just how people got the idea that triplets were alike.

Under his breath, "Not like either of you ever listen to me anyway."

Of course, Ily was too experienced in dealing with his sister's (or telling them off, at least), to fall for Rosa's little diversion, but oh well, it was worth a try. Anyway, even if Rosa had said it exclusively to get Ily off her back, there was some truth to it. Which was more risky? Doing drugs on a pretty much daily basis or sleeping around a bit... well, a lot? There was a difference. Anyway, it wasn't her fault Ily hadn't been able to go to sleep or something. Rosa doubted that little giggle she'd had when she walked into the house had been enough to rouse him.

Rosa had just about finished cleaning up when her phone emitted a series of beeps. New text. She quickly reached into the shorts she was wearing and accepted it to cancel the noises, which had been rather loud, to say the least. Still, a bleep from the downstairs bathroom wasn't going to carry all that far... hopefully.

The message was from somebody she'd been at the party with. Apparently, that snap of Rosa and whoever that random chick had been was going on some rounds. Were Rosa a particularly easily embarrassed person, that would have bothered her, however... well, she just plain wasn't. Rosa would have been pissed if they'd been any further along in 'proceedings', but really... all that was on display when it had been taken was some boob. Nothing to get too worked up about.

In fact... a little smile crossed Rosa's face and she started tapping at the keys, the clean-up job she'd been at forgotten. Maybe that idle thought before could actual come to fruition...

Ilario was starting to doze off, still sitting on the closed lid of the toilet with his head in his hands, when Rosa's phone rung. He jumped, narrowly missing cracking his knee on the side of the counter, and directed a faint glare at the offending piece of technology.

Not that he really minded, since he'd been starting to fall asleep and if he was going to do that, he was going to do it upstairs in his bed. It wasn't like Rosa was actually listening to him, anyway, and if she was sober enough to clean herself up and text she was probably sober enough to haul herself up to bed without waking up Father.

He stood and stretched, rolling his neck and feeling the stiff muscles stretch protestingly. "I'm going back to bed." It came out slightly snippier then he'd intended. "Try not to wake the house up, okay?"
