Out Of The Darkness And Into The Light

[Private Thread]

The tunnels, as the result of the failed mining experiment on the island, are rather simple, leading into the mountain and heading out towards the mansion grounds. While the entrance from the mine is still clear, the entrance from the grounds is more overgrown with thick foliage as if the owner of the mansion wished for it to be kept as invisible as possible and prevent the local populace from trespassing. It is hard to breathe and almost impossible to see without a light source down in the mine. These tunnels stretch all throughout the Northern part of the island, allowing access at several points in the felled forest and near the beach.

Out Of The Darkness And Into The Light

(Cyrille continued from Extinguishing The Light Of The Future)

Get it together girl!

Cyrille slapped her cheeks gently as she tried to concentrate. She had left the cave's entrance behind her but it was still within her line of sight.

Stupid! How can you be so stupid!

She felt like a moron for having just run into a unknown cave. It could of all ended right there. Some psychopathic student could of be waiting for her and then popped a few bullets into her head. Of course it never happened but it was still a possibility. Right there she could of led her allies and herself into a death trap.

STUPID!

Well there was no point in worrying about it anymore. Calming down she noticed that Saul, Garry and Miranda were not following her. Did she walked out not realizing she had left them behind?

Congratulations Cyrille. You're now an official idiot.

Sighing she started to walked back to her group when she heard a twig crack in the distanced. She instantly jump down on her stomach and stood still. She was used to this. It was just like bird watching. Just stand very still and make no noise. The birds will never see you. Nor will this player.

Great so you left the presumably dangerous cave for a obviously dangerous woods. Oh and you left your friends there also. Cyrille you got to get it together girl!

Snap.

((Reiko Ishida continued from The Right Thing For The Wrong Reasons))

Reiko was, to put it simply, pissed off. Over the course of the day, she had run into nothing but idiots, and the only person she had met so far that was even remotely friendly had been with an overbearing sister. She continued to press on, her feet protesting slightly. When was the last time she had walked for a considerable amount of time? Usually she would be roller blading if she had to go any great distance. Oh well, at least she was in shape, so it wasn't so bad.

As the girl walked, she idly caught the chain hanging out of her pocket, tugging the leather wallet out. It was a simple wallet, black leather with a chain attached to it, which in turn was clipped onto one of her belt loops. It was kept closed by a single metal clasp, which Reiko popped open with her thumb. Inside was some money, which was now useless, some plastic cards, also useless now, and a series of three wallet sized pictures, one behind the other behind a thin sheet of plastic. The first picture, which was the only one visible, was an old, tattered picture of her and her sister from when they were 16. Reiko was holding the large trophy she had won in her figure skating contest, while Reika had in her hands a much smaller, but just as impressive plaque she was awarded for passing her final level in piano. Reiko smiled fondly at the memory of that day, which quickly turned into her wondering where Reika was. She was starting to get worried.

Closing the wallet again, Reiko slipped it back into her pocket. She knew what she had to do. Reika was out there still. Probably alone, probably crying. Reika was so kind. She didn't deserve to be in this situation. None of them did. It just wasn't fair. Who was this Danya fucker to decide their fates? No, Reiko wasn't going to go down quietly. She was going to find Reika. She would find Sarah. She would find Paige, Carol, Amber, Ben, and Jacob. They would find a way out of this, together. Sarah would figure something out. She was probably already working on a plan. Which meant it was Reiko's job to find the others and gather. She would do anything it takes to find and protect her friends.

Anything....

Cyrille sighed in relief as she saw some girl who seemed to be looking at some sort of picture. It looked like the girl was simply wandering around instead of playing. Cyrille's next thoughts on the other hand troubled her. She couldn't afford to make anymore mistakes. Should she stay low and wait for the girl to pass by? Or should she talk to her?

Well considering how many mistakes you made today... You should really think about this one.

Obviously talking to the girl might be dangerous. Even do she didn't seem like she was playing, she could easily be doing otherwise.

Wait.

What if the girl was playing? What if Garry and Saul came along and she attacked them? She didn't want that. The two boys had went out of their way to help her look for Cyrille. She was defenseless and they took her in. She had to repay the debt somehow.

Well girl you got yourself into this mess so you better get yourself out of it. Don't get others involved.

With that new resolution she stood up from her hiding spot and approached the girl.

"Hey there... Hey? Excuse me? My name is Cyrille and you are?"

Reiko's attention was caught by someone calling out. Her head snapped towards the source of the sound, and the small girl rolled her eyes. Just another idiot looking for companionship. Well, she didn't plan on sticking around this time. If there was one thing she had learned, it was that someone would invariably find their way to her, making her life even more difficult. It was best to stop the problem before it started.

"I don't give a damn who you are." Reiko said, sounding a little harsher than she intended, but she didn't care. Hopefully this one would get the message the first time. "And I don't give a damn about your problems either, so you can just save it."

Without even letting the other girl, who had introduced herself as Cyrille, say anything more, Reiko continued to walk in the direction she had been going. Just once she wanted to find someone who wasn't desperately crying for attention. Which at this point, had more or less been everyone she had met. Eventually she was bound to find someone who she was looking for. She could hope at least.

Cyrille just stared at the girl replied in a rude fashion. That it? She didn't even know what the Cyrille was going to say. With herer temper slightly flaring up, Cyrille walk towards the girl. She wanted some kind of answered. Not just a wave of a hand. Voice. Whatever.

At this point Cyrille was starting to get desperate for information on Violetta. If this girl had any information then Cyrille wanted it. Especially considering the fact that Violetta might be in danger. There was no way in hell she was giving up any kind of information. She knew she had to take the initiative to get information from this girl. Shaking off her worries she look straight ahead at the girl who was walking away. She obviously wasn't a player so it wouldn't hurt to try a bit harder for information.

With her mind set, she walked behind the girl and grab her shoulder.

"Hey wait there just a sec friend. I understand were under a stressful situation but listen for me for a second. I'm looking for someone. Hey are you listening to me?" She asked the girl.

(all GMing from this point on is approved)

Reiko hadn't gotten more than a couple feet before the other girl had come up behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder. This turned out to be a bad move on Cyrille's part. Reiko had been in a bad mood before, and as soon as the other girl placed her hand on the small girl's shoulder, Reiko finally lost her temper. Completely oblivious to what the other girl was saying, the tiny girl spun on her heel and shoved Cyrille as hard as she could.

Cyrille fell over hard, her hat falling off her head. "I told you to just fucking leave me alone!" Reiko yelled at the grounded girl, her face contorted in anger. She had never been more angry in her life until that moment, and she wanted nothing more to just kick the poor girl right then and there. She decided against this course of action however. Instead she just turned away.

Reiko began to walk again, this time at a much faster pace. Maybe this time the annoying bitch got the message, and would stay on the ground. She was tired of everyone trying to take something from her, and she had enough. In her anger, she didn't even notice the hat had fallen in her path, and as she walked away, her left foot crushed the poor accessory into the ground.

Cyrille was quite in shock with the recent event. She had fallen over after the girl furiously pushed her away and yelled at her. Cyrille was both afraid and angry. The girl sudden reaction was not expected at all and Cyrille was lost in thoughts in what to do. Suddenly she felt something on her heat was missing.

Her grandfather's beret.

She quickly forgotten about the enrage girl and look around for her beret. She was terrified now. Her dearest possession was mixing. Her eyes finally caught sight of it.

Under the foot of the girl.

That was enough to flush away the girls fears and let anger take over.

"GRANDPA! BITCH! GET OFF MY GRANDFATHER'S BERET!" She suddenly yelled out at the girl.

With a burst of energy she stood up and suddenly charged the girl. She send all of her weight as she tackled the girl to the ground. With both anger and tears she let her fists go free as they swung at the girl's head.

"All I wanted was information! What the fuck is wrong with you!?!"

Cyrille was beyond pissed off. She was tired of this. Tired of all the paranoia. Tired of everyone getting angry. She just wanted to go home with Violetta. She just kept punching the girl and let her angry vent out.

Reiko felt her feet give way under her, then suddenly she was laying on her back on the ground. It took a moment for her to figure out just what happened, and by then Cyrille had mounted her, punching her in the face. Out of instinct, Reiko covered her face with her arms, but she could already feel something trickling down near her eyebrow. One of the hits had lacerated the skin just above her eyes, and it was now bleeding. Cyrille had snapped, and the larger girl just kept hitting Reiko, although the impacts of the punches were lessened now that she had put her arms up.

She needed to act fast, before this girl beat her to death. Reiko had never been in a situation like this before, but she knew she wasn't going to just sit there and take it. Without even thinking, Reiko's hand shot out, clawing at Cyrille's face. her index finger found the girl's eyes, and without thinking, the smaller girl jabbed hard with her finger, causing a howl of pain to come from Cyrille. It was dirty, but it was effective. Taking advantage of the moment, Reiko was able to slip Cyrille off her.

Still on the ground, but now free of the weight of the other girl, Reiko got up to a sitting position. Adrenaline was coursing through her veins, dulling the slight throb in her ribs. Cyrille was beside her on the ground, clutching at her face. She didn't even think about what she was doing. Removing the sai that was hanging off her belt, Reiko jumped onto the girl's back, forcing her face first into the ground. Holding the weapon in her tiny hands, she brought the point down hard with a yell of exertion, not caring where it went, just as long as it found it's home in the bitch who attacked her. No one was going to attack her and get away with it.

Cyrille was slowing down her punches. She was calming down and finally realizing what she was doing. Before she could react to all of it she felt fingers claw at her face. Suddenly one of the said fingers instantly jab into her eye. Pain shot from her eye instantly as she yelled out. The girl then proceed to take this chance to throw Cyrille off of her.

Ignoring her surrounding, Cyrille hands were covering her eye as she press her forehead onto the ground. The pain was beyond what Cyrille had felt before. Sure she had poke her eyes before but this was different. This time she was feeling blood coming out. She tried to open her eyelid in a painful attempt, and noticed something was wrong. She couldn't see with her eye! She was blind from her eye!

Before she could do anything about it she felted her breath get knock out of her when a sudden weight felled on top of her. She felt her own finger jab into her injured eye as her face was forced into the ground. She tried to cry out in pain but she was out of breath as the already injured eye was stabbed once more.

Then the real pain began.

Cyrille felt a sudden piercing pain shoot through her back and into her lower torso. She howled in pain as the new sudden pain had appeared. Something had just pierce her lower torso. Cyrille was frantic to get the Reiko off of her. She tried twisting and turning her body as the pain stayed in her lower torso. The girl was scared now. She didn't understand what was going on. Tears and blood were poring down from her eyes as she tried to make sense of it all. Was she stabbed in the back?

Violetta where are you?

She wanted everything to go away. She just wanted the bitch to go away. With a last surge of strength she used her arms to push herself off the ground and twist around to throw the girl off her back.

The point of her weapon buried itself into Cyrille's back, the pained screams from the other girl snapping Reiko out of her momentary rage. Her breathing was heavy, not to mention painful. She felt like her ribs were at least bruised, if not worse. She slowly pulled the sai out of the girl's back, who had momentarily stopped moving. Was she dead? Reiko wasn't sure how to feel at that moment. She was just defending herself after all, and she had said she would do whatever it took. She hadn't done the wrong thing.

Reiko was suddenly and violently thrown off Cyrille, landing on her side beside the injured girl. She clutched the sai in her hand, waiting for the other girl to lunge at her with a sudden burst of energy, but she didn't move after that. Reiko let out a breath she hadn't known she was holding. The adrenaline was starting to ebb away, the pain in her head and ribs becoming intensified. She knew right off the bat she didn't have a concussion, she had experienced those enough times in the past to know that. the cut on her forehead hurt, but she could deal with that later.

One thing she knew for sure was she needed to get away. Get away from the crazy girl who had attacked her. The one who now lay motionless beside her, her breathing shallow. The one who she had stabbed. It hurt too much to stand, so Reiko opted simply to crawl to her bags, the bloody sai clutched in her left hand. She had to keep moving, before anyone else came on the scene. She didn't need them to think she was a killer.

(Continued from Where is My Mind? )

Sally had been walking for what seemed to be an eternity. She hadn't encountered anyone since she left the group at the cabin and her feet were beginning to hurt. She was getting frustrated by constantly slipping around on the rocks in her shoes unfit for such strenuous activity. As she continued forward her dress snagged on a stray bush branch and ripped. Sally walked forward a few feet without noticing until she heard the unmistakable sound of a tear. The bottom of her skirt had ripped up to her upper thigh.

Sally stopped and stared at the offending branch. She walked back and stomped on the bush, breaking most of the branches off and cutting her feet a bit in the process. When she was done both she and the insolent bush were a mess. She huffed and continued walking, now holding and inspecting the ruined part of her garment.

A scream pierced the air, tearing her attention away from the rip. She looked up just in time to see Reiko Ishida stab a girl in front of the opening of one of the tunnels. The girl toppled over, but not before pushing Reiko. Sally slowly approached the scene until she was about ten feet from Reiko, now crawling towards her bags. Her eyes widened and a smile flickered across her face for a split second.

Reiko Ishida......

The name escaped into her mind like the sound of a busted gas pipe hissing into the silence. Her eyes zeroed in on the bloody knife type object in her hand. She bit her lip and tugged at a bit of her blonde hair.

"R-Reiko!" she stammered out. "I'm so glad to see someone I know, finally!" She conspicuously looked at the sai and tugged harder on her hair. "I know you aren't a killer. You were probably just protecting yourself right? Right?"

That's right. Put it down. Let me know I'm nice and safe. You aren't a killer.

It hadn't taken long for someone else to show up, and Reiko cursed herself for not acting quicker. Even worse, the voice that had called out was by and far the last one she wanted to hear at that moment. Sally Connelly hated Reiko, and the sentiment was returned in kind by the smaller girl. They were never friendly to say the least, but Reiko used to have some form of respect for the other girl. After all, they were both in the same sport, and Sally was a damn good figure skater. Ever since Reiko beat her that one time though, she had made it her goal to make life a living hell for the small girl.

"Fuck you, I don't need anyone to tell me that." Reiko said in response to Sally's comment. She didn't know what the blonde girl was thinking, and quite frankly, she didn't care. Sally was a vindictive bitch, and no doubt was probably trying to just get Reiko to drop her guard. Well it wasn't going to happen. Reiko continued to crawl towards her bag, quite deliberate in her movements. Her back would be turned to Sally, but she didn't care. Sally wouldn't try anything. She may be dumb, but she wasn't dumb enough to try and attack her. Reaching her bag, Reiko released the bloody sai, and began to start collecting her things.

Sally took slow steps towards the smaller girl as she started to look through her bag. A glimmer of satisfaction lit up her eyes when she dropped the bloody instrument. She walked up behind the other girl, bent down and put her hands on the girl's shoulders.

"You know, I could work with you. I could watch your back while we make our way through this game. I could be your ally, I could help."

Her left hand slipped into her dress pocket and pulled out the silver, Tiffany charm necklace.

"I could..."

Her free hand wound it self into Reiko's hair, softly entangling her fingers,

"But I'm not going to."

She put her left hand on the other side of the girl's slender throat, tossed the chain the short distance to her right hand that had made it's way down to the other side of Reiko's neck and pulled back, tightening the little silver links against her skin.

Reiko tried to ignore Sally as she walked towards her, spouting words of encouragement and something about being allies. Reiko wasn't interested. If there was anyone she wouldn't trust to watch her back, it was the bitch Sally. The small girl continued to collect her stuff, but then stopped when Sally put her hands on her shoulders. Reiko wasn't sure what was about to happen, but she felt that it wouldn't be good.

...."But I'm not going to."....

At this moment, Reiko quickly grasped for her sai, but it was too late. Sally wrenched her head up by her hair, and in the next moment, something cold and metal wrapped around her throat. Sally was pulling on the necklace as hard as she could, cutting of the air way of the smaller girl's throat. Reiko tried to grab at the chain, trying to get a finger between the metal and her neck, but to no avail.

Reiko could feel herself fading as her oxygen starved body began it's protest. The attempts to alleviate the pressure on her neck became less and less frequent as her arms started to fail. So this was it. This was how Reiko Ishida was going to die? Was she just going to roll over and let someone else take her life? As Reiko's vision began to black out, she was assaulted with memories. Memories of her family, her friends, Sarah.... Every reason why she couldn't die. She still had a job to do. She needed to protect everyone that was close to her. She wasn't ready to die.

With a sudden burst, Reiko slammed her head back, connecting with the other girl's chin. It hurt Reiko like a bitch, but it also achieved the goal of Sally loosening her grip. Taking the opportunity, the smaller girl slipped through the other girl's legs, out of the grip Sally's necklace. Reiko coughed harshly as sweet air entered her lungs, giving her a new burst of energy. Sally, who had recovered from the initial blow, turned angrily on Reiko. Not wanting to give the bitch a second chance, Reiko lashed out with her foot, kicking as hard as she could. The blow landed on Sally's knee forcefully, and Reiko took this moment to scramble back to her things on her hands and knees, picking up the bloody sai and getting ready to defend herself again.

Cyrille stood still as the girl crawled away from her. She didn't want to get attacked again. She was already in immense pain and the fear of being stabbed again was definitely not what she wanted. What she wanted was for the pain to go away and to go back home with Violetta. It was the only thing she desired but she knew it was impossible. Whatever the girl had stabbed her with had probably pierce something vital. It was painful and seem to drain her energy away.

So this is it huh?

No more seeing Vio, Rachael, her friends or her mother. No more visiting her home town to see her grandfather's grave. Thinking about her grandfather, Cyrille look around to find her beret. It was only a short distance away from her. She wanted it. She somehow manage to find another reserve of strength and manage to stand on her knees and hands. Her lower torso and eye scream in pain as she moved but she ignored it. She had all the time in the afterlife to cry in pain. She didn't have that kind of time now. Stretching her arms out, she began to crawl towards the beret while grimacing in pain.

Grandpa I'm coming for you...

She heard a new voice. Looks like someone else arrived on the scene. They also seem to know the girl that Cyrille attacked. Cyrille simply ignored it as she kept crawling.

Sorry that I screwed up Grandpa...

She was now withing arm's reach of the beret. She reached out towards the beret. Her hands grasp the hat as she pulled it towards her. With it Cyrille let herself lie on her stomach. She laid the beret beside her face as she wept. This wasn't how she wanted to die. Not in some stupid remote location. She wanted to die like Grandpa. With loved ones.

Vio I need you... Please... Come here quickly...

She heard some struggling behind her. She manged to turn her body around to face the new conflict between the stranger and Reiko. She watched as the new girl was strangling Reiko. Cyrille watched with slight shock. She wasn't expecting the new person to suddenly attack Reiko the same way she did. Of course there was a difference. Cyrille did it out of rage. This girl was out to kill.

Is there really a difference between you two?

Cyrille knew better. She knew her attack was a accident in which she should of never done. The new girl on the other hand was obviously playing. But for the Reiko girl it was the same thing. Two strangers had suddenly attacked her. How was she suppose to react? This was Survival of the Fittest. Cyrille simply sighed at this point. At this point all this thinking was useless. She was dying and she knew it. There was no point in struggling anymore... She instead let her thoughts wander in the pass. One memory was clear in her head as she held the beret close to herself.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Grandpa why is the dog barking at us?" Cyrille asked her grandfather.

The little six year old looked up to her grandfather with big curious eyes. She was sitting on her grandfathers lap while he was sitting on a bench. Both of them had decided to visit the park that day while her mother was out shopping.

Her grandfather took off his beret for a moment and scratch his head. He looked at the family that was walking by. There was a little boy who was holding a dog's leach which at the end of it had a dog. The little poodle was barking furiously at both Cyrille and her grandfather.

"Well Cyrille..." The old man began. He stroked his beard to give the old wise man impression that Cyrille simply adored watching. "The dog is just telling us to stay away from him and his family." He answered her.

Cyrille looked back down at the dog. The girl was confused why the dog would barked at them. Obviously they were not dangerous.

"But grandpa... It's just you and me. How are we a danger to his family?" She asked once again.

Again her grandpa repeated his beard stroking. Always pretending to be the wise man.

"Well how does he know where not dangerous? It's only a little dog. It doesn't know who we are. Nor does he understand that were harmless. He's just doing the one thing he knows and that's to protect his family" He answered.

Cyrille looked back up to her grandfather with a puzzled look. Protect his family? If any dangerous monster came to attack the family the dog couldn't do anything! It was too small!

"Grandpa your being silly! That dog couldn't protect anyone!" She stated.

Her grandfather laughed at this comment. He looked down at his granddaughter and gave her a gentle smile

"Cyrille that dog doesn't care that it's small. All it cares about is the safety of it's family. That dog would do anything to make sure they are safe. Which is why it's such a amazing animal. No matter the danger it will do anything, even die, for it's family. Just like I would do anything to protect you and your mother. You'll understand this when your older." He said and gently rubbed Cyrille's head.

The little girl simply look at the little poodle as it walk away. It almost look as if it was proud to have kept Cyrille and her grandfather away. It was a curious creature in her opinion. Something that would do anything to make sure it's family was safe. She just starred at the dog with curiosity.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cyrille laughed at that memory. Tears rolled down as she remembered her grandfather. How she missed him. How she wanted for him to protect her now. It was hopeless thinking but she desired her grandfather. She took one last glance at the fighting that was happening. Her eye looked at Reiko, the little girl who was struggling for her life. She knew that Reiko had a family and friends. She knew that this girl didn't attack in hostility. She was only trying to survive. Cyrille knew that Reiko was probably someone's little poodle. She was probably looking for her friends right now. She didn't deserve to die.

Cyrille finally realized her true mistake. She attacked Reiko for a beret. Her grandfather would be ashamed. Attack a person who did nothing wrong for a stupid beret. He wouldn't want her to waste her life over a hat and she did.

Sorry grandpa... I'll make it up to you in heaven but first...

She didn't want Reiko to die because of her mistakes. She should of never attacked but she did, and now she was going to fix it. With motivation and wild emotions, Cyrille crawled towards the fight and watched as Reiko manage to land a kick on the girl's knee. This seemed to have stunned the girl. It was enough for Cyrille to get close enough to the girl. With the opportunity, Cyrille reached out and grab the girl's legs. With whatever energy she could find, she pulled Sally with all her force. The technique worked as the girl who was already stumbling over due to the pain of the knee, felled face first towards the dirt. With that success, Cyrille looked over at the Reiko with her one eye.

"Hurry! Find your friends! Protect them alright!" She yelled at Reiko.

Hopefully this was enough to make up for her attack.
