This is the forum for post-Prom parties and other events that take place after the dance. If you want to tell what your character is doing on Prom night though they are not attending the dance proper, this is probably the best place for that, too. Basically, anything from when the characters leave the dance until the end of the Prom experience belongs here.

((Rutherford "R.J." Roger Jr. -Prom- continued from We hope we don't make everyone have a horrible time))

R.J. creased the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb, simultaneously wiping the crust from his eyes. After changing out from his tuxedo and back into a tank-top and basketball shorts, he didn't really feel like going to bed. In fact he was quite restless, which was why he was working on his motorcycle so late at night. At least the weather was nice, a gentle breeze flowing by to cool him off instead of giving him chills. It would be too hot to fix things otherwise.

One might wonder why someone would be working so late at night on a motorcycle. Well for one, it was relaxing to him, knowing for sure his treasure was all nice and shiny. And two, he might never ever see this beauty again. Going to Arizona for college a little bit after his senior trip, there was no way he was going to be able to take his motorcycle with him. It was just too inconvenient. Not to say he didn't think of the idea, imagining Veronica holding on to his waist for dear life, their baggage barely surviving in a makeshift side-car, blazing the road on a dusty trail. A little bit of him wanted to actually try, believe.

But no, that wouldn't happen. R.J.'s mom would flip out on him, and he was pretty sure Veronica broke one of his ribs on the way back home. Their parents would somehow send them over, either it be by plane or car, and tease them about not messing around too much. At this point, someone would just be telling him to look at the silver lining.

Of course, he could see it. Actually learn about things that interest you, make new friends, go to a lot more parties, and do dangerous stuff his mom would never allow him to do otherwise, like play football or jump off a cliff. He was happy too, going out of state, leaving all the bad stuff behind.

He was just sad he had to leave all the good stuff too. His motorcycle, the coffee, the rain. He would miss the rain the most. He wiped the side view mirror again, now noticing all the grease and smudge on his hands. But his bike was as pretty as a picture. Maybe the finest he's ever seen it. He wondered, would it look like this when it came back, let alone still be here? R.J. had asked his mom to take care of it, but all the stories of parents renting out their kids rooms and such made him worried. He remembered how his mom always told him the story of how determined his dad was in keeping his own motorcycle when they moved to Seattle. Maybe, there was just a chance...

No, he told himself, don't be silly. His nosed twitched a bit and made him sneeze, what with all the dust. He looked back at his treasure, wondering if it would be proper to leave it in his old apartment garage for so long. Not having much of a choice, he shut off the lights. He'll get it back, he told himself, if he ever decided to come back to Seattle, once he's older. But time has a way of being lazy, he knew.
