This island isn't the type of island to be completely deserted, is it?

She had woken up in an abandoned concrete jungle and had ended up at a fucking nuclear power plant at the end of the day. She internally hoped that this thing was stable and the entire island didn't turn into Chernobyl during this deathmatch.

Speaking of deathmatch, the trek had taken her and Mike close to the entire day, so the announcements came on just as they came in. Eight people were dead already, at the hands of five people.

A lot of things shocked Veronica.

The victim-killer ratio, for one. 8:5. 4:2.5. That was an awfully high number (and it was partially due to the accidental deaths and suicides) and she didn't expect that eight people would die. Sure, maybe one or two might not make it and commit suicide or fall on a rock, but eight people? Murdered?

This was a bit too much. Veronica sat down next to one of the abandoned cars, mulling and internally freaking out over the announcements.

It didn't occur to her until now that she could die.

Veronica spent some time moping around. The time let her think over her choices.

Should she play the game?

Should she murder her classmates to save her own hide?

Maybe and maybe.

No, Veronica thought inwardly. wait it out. When everyone left is a killer, then you can play.

It's self defense...

Veronica stood up, now with some half-assed plan, which basically boiled down to Wait, then kill

It wasn't much, but it was good enough for her to follow
