Homestead

The Homestead remains much the same post-evacuation as it was pre-evacuation: weather-worn and spooky. An expansive farm with overgrown grass and wheat fields surrounds the area, peppered with rusted equipment. Now struck with wood-rot, the structures offer little coverage from the elements, but provide an eerie look into the past of the previous owner; the bed is still neatly made and the kettle still sits ready on the wood burning stove. The start of a small wood carving lies on the nearby table.

  • Dilapidated Barn
Several yards away from the house and hidden in a field of high wheat, one can make out the chipped red paint of a large barn. Much of the barn has been struck with wood-rot, but it looks just as one would expect a barn to look, with a large hayloft that could prove the perfect hiding spot.

  • Greenhouse
At the other end of the farm is the shell of a small greenhouse. Although the windows broke out long ago and remain jagged around the edges, vegetation has continued to thrive inside. Boasting several exotic looking flowers and crops, it appears a godsend for hungry students. Not everything may be edible, however, so caution is advised.

  • Wheat Fields
Going as far as the eye can see, the wheat fields can seem somewhat intimidating. With the wheat growing wild now, the fields reach the average person’s shoulders, and since they lack any distinguishing landmarks aside from rusted farm equipment haphazardly left around, it can be very easy for one to lose their way.

  • Farmhouse
A single farmhouse sits in the middle of the homestead, appearing very small in the overgrown grass. The house itself is two stories, housing a small kitchen, dining area, and living room on the first floor, while the second plays host to two bedrooms; the master furnished with double bed and armoire and empty bookcase and the other decorated with only a twin bed and desk. All the furniture in the house appears hand-crafted, possessing a charming rustic quality. It could be quite cozy in better circumstances. Out back, one can find a quaint outhouse, though it gets mighty cold at night.
